Yes, the Lincolns have AWD. But (Aviator aside) they are a front wheel drive based system with a transverse engine location (so width ways across the engine bay, rather than longitudinally like the Coyote). It more Focus RS than Mustang.
The CD6 based Aviator is more Mustang-like with a...
The renderings above were proposals for S550, not S650.
And, yes, S650 will be a heavy revision of the S550's DC2 architecture (with elements of CD6, supposedly).........with all new sheetmetal.
Most likely a reveal Spring/Summer 2022..........with production starting in Autumn 2022.
The attached relates to dealer enrollment into the GT500 programme, but it does give an indicated date for the first month of vehicle production for the '22 model year (October 2021).......so I'd...
Once again, great info @amk91
I believe Jarstang (site owner) has already registered Mustang7g.com but for now, I'll see if he's up for an S650 sub-section.
Keep the info coming :like:
That's precisely why Ford needs to build a V8 hybrid. If we can't have a pure ICE V8, then a hybrid version is the next best thing.
I honestly think any other engine combination just won't sell in Europe.......definitely not here in the UK.
If the pure ICE V8 is still built for the US...
It was covered in this thread (although it's good to see Steeda reporting on it, too........pretty sure companies like Steeda have a good relationship with Ford, and know what's coming in the next-gen).
Also, this mule is V8 based, so if it IS testing AWD, that would indicated an 8-cylinder...
Agreed......I fear sales will fall off a cliff if we don't get the V8. V8 hybrid would be the best of both worlds and would "future proof" the car through 2026 and beyond.
Here in the UK, sales were around 70% V8, 30% Ecoboost and, as we know, EB sales were halted for the '21MY.
We buy our...
I fully respect Matt and his YouTube channel, and I know a "family" of Mustangs has been discussed before but the one issue I have with this is:
What platform or architecture would this use?
S650 is expected to be a heavily modified version of the S550's D2C architecture. Could they really...
As @amk91 indicated........they probably are, but are either just at Ford proving ground or are being tested under the cover of darkness.
Nice Mustang connection with Fox Mulder though ;)
I'll admit, I was excited there for a second or two! Whilst my initial thought was that looks very similar to the early S550 mules, my second thought was that bush behind it looks in good health for the middle of winter
It's an odd photo though. Normally we get to see every spy shot...
Perhaps there would be a way of them preventing a brand new car being imported, but second hand? I doubt it. Second hand ICE vehicles will be around for decades and decades to come.
Yes. But other than some new colors, I don't expect any changes for the '22MY :like:
Also, due to the pandemic, the '20MY ended up being a very long one (October 2019-December 2020, with Job 1 for the '21MY being January 4th 2021). Ford intend to get back to the usual October Job 1, at least...
'Bout time we had some S650 news! :)

I love the "no brakes" sign in the window..........might as well say "please check out the brakes as they are different and give clues as to what...
