Have you checked FORSCAN for BCM diagnostic trouble codes - DTC’s?
The reason I’m asking is I tripped the BCM once on my Raptor tapping power off the bed lights power - because I was too lazy to take the run to the battery for the relay. That was a poor life choice. It worked for about 30...
Are you a polar bear?
My Dark Horse is _the_ coldest vehicle I’ve ever experienced. Even in 105F Texas heat I leave it on max cool for maybe a few minutes at best and then have to up it to about 74-75.
After leaving the dealer from purchase, I haven’t used max ac once.
Anyway...
it pains my very libertarian heart to even think this, but if there is any one industry on the planet that absolutely cries out for MORE regulation, it is 100% the insurance industry. On one hand, you have the government requiring insurance and on the other hand it’s pretty much letting them...
Insurance! Vehicle insurance in Texas isn’t exactly peachy, and was definitely cheaper in VA. Not DC though. I have a brother in DC and he’s been there since ... 2000 IIRC and he’s had a vehicle stolen every 3-4 years.
Here in TX though, I’ve observed 2 primary drivers of high insurance -...
Flood damage? I think a flood damaged vehicle nuke the whole warranty. I’ve never had a flood damaged vehicle but I can see where that happens. I think salvage title may as well - maybe someone more familiar can chime in.
But no, they can’t just press the magic voided warranty button.
I weight my 2017 Raptor super crew at the dump once with 1 human passenger + driver. I had some token stuff in the bed - maybe 100 - 200 pounds tops -but bulky. scale said 5875. I don’t recall how much fuel, probably half tank or over.
I moved out mid year, 2020 and was paying $3k / year in vehicle taxes alone.
I moved to Texas, no income tax, real estate tax is the same as Unfairtax county; well, I pay the same, but I have 6x more land, and 1.75x more house. No personal property tax, and starting next year, no annual vehicle...
Awesome writeup @roket thanks for sharing.
Not just for y’all, but for the purchaser too. Then they have oddball stuff like a forced tear down, meaning you pay up front because they haven’t “determined if the vehicle has been abused or modified”.
You’d better have EVERY maintenance record...
At that weight, things will deteriorate pretty quick.
1) tires. If we think the Trofeos wear out quick, these guys will be keeping tire suppliers in business.
2) suspension. I have buddy with an F150 Lightning. He’s on his 2nd set of shocks at 27k miles.
3) Remember this is a passenger car...
I’m going to moderately, yet respectfully disagree. I leave mine on navigation, which I find to be a big improvement over sync3, and I can still see radio stuff to the right. The nav screen is detailed enough that I can make out upcoming road names, it zooms in at major intersections, then...
’24 Dark Horse is the coldest A/C I’ve experienced short of a walk in cold room or freezer. I’m saying have to turn up the temp to 74 when ambient is 108 to stay warm enough.
Once I got some saddle time finding the right temp range, it’s been great.
I would like physical controls but I’m...
