Some form of S650 news tomorrow would be fantastic, but I'm not holding my breath.
Instead, I shall just celebrate 57 years of the finest car in the world!
It would be very surprising for Ford to reveal any of the S650's styling cues on a racing car before the reveal of the production model. But Ford moves in mysterious ways these days!
I sure hope so. I appreciate modern computer design means the vast majority of S650's design will be complete...
It'll be interesting to see what it looks like.
However, the current Mustang Nascar looks more like some of the less successful S550 photoshops :giggle:
Saturday 17th April will be Mustangs 57th birthday. Would be nice if Ford would give us Mustang fans a present by way of a camo'd S650 prototype prowling the streets for the spy photographers to capture!
C'mon Ford, please! Throw us a bone, or a slice of cake!

Yep, think of the changes between the '09 and '10 model years, that's what I'm expecting. Tweaks to the chassis, engine and gearbox with an all-new "top hat" meaning all new sheet metal/head lamps/tail lamps etc. There's a chance S650 will also have new glass and an even more pronounced fastback...
I do agree, having new models available to customers from Spring so they can be enjoyed immediately makes most sense, but Ford will build them whenever they are ready and customers will still buy them, even if some immediately store them for sunnier days.
The Mustangs currently rolling out of...
A delay is absolutely possible and, in fact likely. It was back in February 2020 that we saw the job advert that stated S650 was due to launch in 2022 as a '23MY.

What we don't know is when in 2022 is...
Good to see you on here chazcron :like:
Really hoping we start seeing those heavily camo'd prototypes soon! (feels like I've been saying that for months and months!)
As much as I dislike the Mach E, the designers were simply doing a job they're paid to do. Those responsible are the ones at the very top, including the now departed Mr Hackett.
If there's one design aspect I hope S650 borrows from Mach E, it would be incorporating the turn signal into the...
I think an unveil this year is unlikely, although anything is possible. If it were to be this year, either the North American International Autoshow (which is actually now called Auto Bella and being held at the M1 Concourse https://naias.com/ ) or the Woodward Dream Cruise.
But, given Covid...
The Shelby GT350 only just scraped into the '15 model year with 137 examples to match the 137 from 1965.
If S650 launches for a '23MY, I think it'll be at least the '24MY before we see a new Shelby........at least a Ford Performance Shelby.
Shelby American on the other hand.........as the...
If its a '23MY, it should enter production Autumn 2022 (Sept/Oct)...........possibly with a reveal 6 months earlier. Revealing S650 on April 17th 2022 would be a nice present :like:
One thing I can guarantee..........there will be multiple threads on how "the S650 doesn't look like a Mustang".....or "it's ugly".......or "it looks like a Fusion/Focus/insert other name here".
It happens with every refresh and every new generation. Many......not all.......but many, will soon...
You might be right, Ace, particularly in the rest of Europe.
But here in the UK? I'm not so sure. Our taxes, whilst high, are no where near as bad as other European countries. I'm currently writing an article for a magazine at the moment (with 2 others) and we asked the question of Ford UK...
Some rather......er.....unusual visions being expressed here. Lets keep the non-Fastback/convertible talk to the other active threads.
Me? I'm a traditionalist when it comes to the Mustang, so I'm happy to keep the same recipe we've have for almost 57 years. Keep it a relatively simple 2+2...
