Looks like the strip of windshield I clear off when commuting to work in the winter. Least amount of ice removal possible in order to drive.

The rationale with the direct sunlight is heating the exterior of the glass, heating the film, and increasing the temperature on the back side of the film evenly, all at the same time. The music recommendation is to avoid vibrating the film while it’s still curing to the glass.
I paid $300 for all windows (not the windshield) for ceramic tint. 5% all around was my choice. The rear windows, in particular, had some small swirls and tiny bubbles on day 1. I followed the tint shop recommendations and didn't play music in the car, kept the windows up, and parked it in...
