  1. Weird rattling noise unable to pin point

Rattles and buzzes are the bane of my life. MX5, gave up. Too many to find in a lifetime. Toyota GT86, finally found a dash rattle behind the stereo head unit after 2 years of looking. That left all the other buzzes, gear whine, etc, etc. Cupra Leon, Dealer lubed the sunroof tracks and all was...
  2. Weird grinding/scraping noise from rear wheels after new wheel install

Take it straight back, try to avoid heavy braking
  3. Automatic or Manual?

I don't mind the auto, it shifts reasonably well and is quite smooth. And, I didn't have a choice as all manuals were gone. I do miss the crispness of a dual clutch trans though. It would also be good to be able to run the sport shifting protocol in normal mode like you can with VW/Audi trans...
  4. HOW TO: Radar Detector Hard Wire Install with BlendMount

Becaus Because I don't want to pay speed tax to some indoctrinated cop who's been brainwshed into thinking 10kmh over the limit is worse than murder. Plus, I want to keep my licence. I've had it 57 years and got attached to it.
  5. HOW TO: Radar Detector Hard Wire Install with BlendMount

I've used V1's since 1995. I have a couple of V1 Gen2's in our cars, running with the JBV1 app on dedicated phones. Nothing I've used or seen offers that combos capabilities. But you have to be prepared to do some mildly complex set up to get the best out of it.
  6. Automatic or Manual?

Rev matching/auto blipping? Real men heel and toe.
  7. Man Kills Wife in Street Race

Having seen many accidents, a few fatals, and a lot of crap driving, there's no way I'd race some stranger (or friend) on the street. As for killing your wife, who could live with that?
  8. Man Kills Wife in Street Race

    Darwin award and bar.
  9. Test Drove a Mustang GT - drive review

I remember an old episode of Top Gear where Stirling Moss (I think) demonstrated to Clarkson how to make any car understeer or oversteer at will. Those old guys with analogue cars knew their stuff.
  10. Test Drove a Mustang GT - drive review

I tend to cruise at 10 - 15kmh over our ridiculous 100 kmh limit, and stay alert for Waze and detector warnings. But when I overtake I'll travel at whatever's necessary. The problem is, the Mustang gets to 160 - 180kmh quicker than my old car got to 140. It took some getting used to.
  11. Should I be frustrated or am I wrong?

Tyre rotation is well worth doing if a car puts heavy wear on front or rear tyres. High power FWD's for one example. I'm not so sure about swapping side to side though, I'd measure the tread depth then make the call. As someone posted, I'd keep an eye on unusual wear patterns and get an...
  12. How would you handle this ppf install? Is this an acceptable install to you?

That's entirely unacceptable. It should be redone. All that should have been dealt with by him before the car was laid up to be honest. My PPF guy doesn't use precut sections, he lays on the sheets and trims to suit. There's just one small flaw that I chose not to worry about, but he would have...
  13. Brembo Brakes Add-On?

I'd also check if the master cylinder for the Brembo set up is the same as your current one.
  14. Tyre recommendations for S650 Mustang GT

I have to agree. My last car, a turbo 2L would be as quick to 100 as the Mustang if launch was used. But there's no way it'd stay with the Ford in a roll on. And you can't beat the way a powerful RWD car squats and squirms on corner exit.
  15. Tyre recommendations for S650 Mustang GT

I had the same Pirelli P Zero PZ4's on my Cupra Ateca, and went to Mich PS5. They were much superior, especially on turn in. The PS4S would be better still, but I wanted better tread life. I'll probably go the same way on the Ford
  16. Everyday driving configuration

I usually use custom mode - sport steering, sport exhaust, TC and ESC on, stop/start and lane assist off. Sport mode if I'm doing some "christian motoring" with or without ESC/TC if it's dry. Or, normal mode, normal exhaust, stop/start off, lane assist off, comfort steering.
  17. BoostRabbitGT test drives Mustangs and other cars in this thread.

If I drove that many cars, I'd probably give up and take a bus. That's just utter confusion. We don't have such a huge choice of makes and models here, and the only comparable competition for the Mustang is a 370Z, which will never darken my garage. Everything else is $20k more. The Mustang had...
  18. Phone Holder recommendations?

I had to create a couple of mounts. The one above the volume knob is a selfie stick phone holder on a magnetic ball mount stuck to the dash, so I can get my phone in front of the vent to cool it on long trips. The other is for my dedicated V1/JBV1 display phone. I couldn't find a mount that put...
  19. Wondering how many other owners have interior buzzes and rattles

I read a comment on the V1 Discord channel about Mustang rattles, so it was a pleasant surprise to have none. (Touch wood) If there's going to be rattles in a car our goat tracks will bring them out.
  20. Test Drove a Mustang GT - drive review

One of the things that made me take a long look at a Mustang was a review by a Dutch guy on Autotop NL. He drives all sorts of exotica, and loved the Mustang because it was fun. He thought too many cars are just so good they're not that much fun for normal drivers on normal roads So I drove a...
