I like it as is. Every modded car I've had always required fettling. Bloody annoying things that break or go wrong at the worst time. I've very rarely had that happen on stock modern cars.
Besides, 0 - 100 kmh in around 4.6 or so without attention gathering launch control is great by me.
The ignition map is the max timing the ECU will allow under ideal conditions. Raising octane over the Ford spec won't make it add more timing. But if the map is altered to allow more timing advance for 100 octane or E85, etc, it will produce more power to a point.
I don't know what Hondas are like in the US, but most of them down here are fugly AF.
When I read this I had to give Bonnie a hug and tell her the mean man doesn't know what he's saying.
I alternate between our 95 (91) and 98 (93), the butt dyno can't tell a difference and fuel consumption is effectively the same.
The only reason I use 98 at all is that it's recommended by the manufacturer.
That's not necessarily a great idea with modern oils. The detergent package in them is designed to hold contaminants in suspension which makes it look dirty when it's still got a lot of life left.
On the other hand, if you feel good about doing that, the oil company will love you.
It's non adjustable suspension that's the compromise. It's very difficult to design a suspension for optimum grip and handling as well as compliance on some of the crap roads we're having to deal with.
The variable damping set up on my last car was great. Compliant in normal mode and better...
I would have had it if I had the choice, but I'm reasonably happy with the ride and handling.
I like the directness of the steering in sport or track, but there's something a bit strange about the steering that I can't put my finger on. It doesn't self centre very strongly, I'm wondering if...
