100% sure? It definitely does on other Ford vehicles like the F150 and Maverick/Bronco.
either way it was a more general complaint about the ridiculous things the automakers are doing these days.
The same engineers responsible for record amounts of recalls?
They are either fools or hampered by bean counters, the EPA, etc
Do you honestly think they decided on those thin oils (that they recently stopped recommending) on their own?
These are the same people putting rubber drive belts in...
Most mechanics that see what these engines look like with those 10mm oil changes will disagree with you
just because an oil passes an online oil test doesn't mean it's not causing problems in your engine
While we're at it let's go back in time to 2002, when the WRX was first released in the USA with 227hp. Those things only dynoed 175hp!
Works out to 23% drivetrain loss
Subaru underrated the power a little bit. It's a well known fact in the WRX community. No big deal. BMW often does that with their performance cars as well. There's no way to get 5% drivetrain loss especially on an AWD vehicle.
I wouldn't say ford inflates the HP. Factory rated at 480hp, say...
According to ford:
1. 87 octane is fine
2. you never need to change your tranny fluid
3. don't change the oil until the car tells you too even if it's 10,000 miles
does any of this sound like a good idea?
It's funny how when the S650 came out they were making 430-440hp and were making so much power!
Then tuning started and the baselines magically dropped to 400 or even less...
not a huge difference but enough to get a little increase for a few months.
I think there's a good amount of people who were waiting for tuning to get an S650, they might still have to sell their S550.
Also there's things like shops and aftermarket companies that are going to buy one for...
