@JAG75
No, I did not do OPGs, never even gave a thought to it. I was trying to find the video but can’t, there was a YouTube video of someone actually breaking their OPGS, and when I tell you he was holding it on/off the limiter for minutes, it may have took 3 or 4 full minutes on the limiter...
As I Ford fan I really hope they hit a home run,
Where I see it… Ford has been upstaged for over a decade… the S197 GT500s were decimated when the hellcat dropped, not to mention, redeye, demon etc…
and so much hype for the GTD only to get publicly humiliated by the ZR1, let alone ZR1X...
@Kristoffer
I paid 10.6K for my whipple stage 2 kit when they released, did the install myself, been perfect for 2 years now. Frankly the car is too fast. And I just put it around like an old man
Cats tend to become an issue, I would get headers on there, but if stage 1 and trying to play warranty game I get why people aren’t up to it.
I think the engine is safer with no warranty, stage 2 kit and off-road headers.
than less power stage 1 kit, stock headers
I think that’s not true on the GT350, I don’t think they touch OPGs.
the older gt500s do have a different/stronger set OEM. Those are the recommended upgrade, not aftermarket, but they’re expensive
Bouncing off the rev limiter causes “play and snapback ” in the chain/gears for lack of a better term.
So holding it on the limiter is what can lead to them failing… not making power and shifting
I’d start with a different platform.
Not sure what though, it’s either gonna be old or crazy expensive or just constantly breaking stuff.
if I really wanted to do high power laps I’d be looking at Porsche, where the weight is 1k lbs less off the jump, maybe a viper T/A etc.. I know the calvo...
Hope you guys get it and enjoy, terrible execution as a company, car has been out 2 and a half years, whipple kits been out over a year and a half
Inexcusable as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully they do better next time, hell turbo kits been out for over a year.
No, that reads like a blanket cover your ass statement
My car didn’t “run lean” stock tune with headers.
And define “run lean”… no idea on a pc'd zilla, mostly coyote only in this forum.
I’d skip procharger all together after they botched this rollout so badly, company seems to be ran by hacks.
I wouldn’t even go that far, DH has big ass brakes and too many coolers weighing it down.
Stock for stock my base GT cooks a dark horse.
Maybe not around Laguna seca… but around town and on the freeway
I watched all his vids, pretty dang impressive, a few things
275/40/17 … so he’s running a 26” drag tire out back, helps with gearing up a touch, I’d guess it’s a 3:55 rear also.
He’s down around 350lbs over stock, I’d assume the exhaust is hacked off for major weight loss and a fully stripped...
Is it stage 1?
Yes D/A affects boosted cars as bad if not worse, hell even the 42-55 temp difference is a big deal.
You’re starting at like 40-45 mph right?
You can’t compare negative air to 950+, a 1500 ft differential is huge
Negative is basically seeing fractional boost
Did you go catless? That’s the bulk of the gains on headers N/A
Yes, that’s what I’m expecting, a new supercharged variant with insane handling.
The car you’re thinking of building… not sure but we’ll see on the 15th I guess.
