Both true. The article mentions one of the four suspects is/was a Ford Employee; they had to have a position that allowed entry and exit at at least 3 different plants.........................and as you say; there is almost no way they were getting the quantity of (in some cases) fairly large...
The quick acceleration of my GT frequently makes me off gas; I find keeping a window cracked helps to keep the film build up down. 😉
PS: Always wondered what caused the film build up on the inside windshield as I haven't smoked and I won't let anyone smoke in my cars. TY!
Toying with the idea of having my black seat and seat back perforated leather inserts replaced with perforated medium gray Alcantara inserts.
However, it occurs to me that the heating element and maybe the cooling are embedded or attached to the seat foam/OEM leather inserts.
Anyone know...
Great suggestion by @bountifulgoose !
Depending on your skill set and physical plant situation (garage vs no garage, etc); spray bombing (aka rattle canning) an ebay or other bumper cover is a pretty straight forward operation and would save furthers $s over a body shop.
Finish sand...
Most body shops, including dealer body shops, are happy to provide verbal and/or written estimates for repairs/replacements---they will need to see/examine the damage though; can't do it over the phone/internet.
It's been my experience my dealer's (excellent work!) body repair estimates run...
@MAT1955 --Dang it, Matt! Had to bring up lighter seat inserts/cooler in the summer! 😆 Mine's all black leather and boy do those rascals get hot in the summer (hate to think what it'd be like down south or the SW where they get REAL summer heat) when they get direct sun shine.
Now YOU got me...
Depends on how bad the scuff/scrape is. I had a minor one on one of the Sparcos on my RS, and used a wide tipped black Sharpie twice a year to keep it covered up. Two coats. 👍
Are you planing on doing the seats yourself, or having them done at a shop? That will determine price range.
If you're going to DIY; buying the replacement panels off the net as suggested by @Magic88 will definitely help hold costs down. If you're going to go with a shop ; your best bet...
Oh Kay.....................................
Congrats on your new GT; glad you found one you like and at a budget friendly price! 👍
PS: Dang! Your tires must have a LOT of traction to stick to that vertical wall like that! 😉
May 6, 2025---4 men (including a Ford Employee) were arrested by Dearborn (MI) PD for stealing millions in Ford parts right off the assembly line; including at the Flat Rock Mustang plant!
“Parts were allegedly stolen from the Dearborn, Flat Rock and Wayne plants. These plants build some of...
Sadly; with a single exception (a Gen Zer with a 2012 mildly and well done modded GT) that's been my experience around here as well. Honk, and/or wave.......................nothin' back. I've actually gotten a couple of scowls back like I'd flipped them off or something. 🤷♀️
I've had a couple of rough looking Amish Dudes pull up next to me a stop lights and make their horses whinny repeatedly; egging me on to race them. Both were dual horse carriages. I threw some cracked oats out the passenger window to distract the horses and smoked their @$$3$. 😉
Actually...
I should have added (see post above); the body shop manager told me I had a fair bit of sand, grit, and small gravel in my under trays; that had blasted the metal bits opposite the liner holes down to bare metal (approx 5400 miles on my GT).
Didn't find any rust, but they treated the bare metal...
