My rear brake assist activated for the first time yesterday on my driveway - a daffodil had flowered and leaned over and my car was about to hit it. I'm pleased to say the daffodil is completely fine as a result.
Joking aside - it could have been a more solid object and the car would...
Yes the AEB pre-loads the braking system and then also activates the brake assist function. In most cases most drivers never apply the brakes hard enough in an emergency to activate the ABS on a dry road - brake assist makes sure the car does.
Smell is normal - underseal overspray on the exhaust. It will soon clear.
Auto DH is not popular - it sore of defeats the object of the DH and the Tremec.
All a bit odd. You will have surely had a confirmed order document and the price is guaranteed by Ford. If it is a mis-build (as in Recaro seats) then that is not your fault?
VED increase is different - you would have had to pay for that as that is outside of Ford control.
Yes puddle lights...
Agree. Very rarely warns (and even then pretty obvious why).
If it is going off all the time then it would suggest driving is the issue - wait for the 'my driving is the best in the world', followed by a flurry of insults!
I'm sure the current shenanigans will blow over as it is all just willy waving, but what will not blow over is the damage done to sales of US products overseas. People have long memories. Just ask Ford how many cars they sell in Japan!
