Had it in to get the brakes inspected and do a flush and fill on the brake fluid. Front brakes were fine, rear were less than 50% pad so I had them replaced so that the car is ready for the track.
I'm supposed to be at Gingerman next month for the Mohawk Track Experience but going to miss the...
I have Pirelli Scorpion, only because they couldn't get the Blizzak for me when I needed to get a new set. The car handles fine. I don't add any weight to the car and have never felt the need to do so. Besides, adding that weight to the trunk sets up issues - you increase the stopping distance...
I drive my performance package GT, with the oil cooler, year round and have no issues here in SE Michigan. Through several blizzards this past year on a 25 mile drive to my office on the expressway and not a problem.
And as said, the only modification for the winter has been to swap to my snow...
If you are asking if Ford is going to compensate your somehow for modifications to your car if it is taken on "lemon law", short answer: NO.
Ford has nothing to do with your modifications and is only responsible for the car that Ford built.
We were in the 4th of July parade yesterday, (right behind a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville convertible that was really nice). Lots of compliments and thumbs up from people on the parade route. At the announcer stand as we were coming up they called out "leave some space" and then "the crowd wants to...
It's really hard for me to tell anything about the settings since I am deaf on the left side! So everything is always biased to the right side of the car no matter what setting I use.
However, July 21 I am getting a cochlear implant on the left so I'm really curious if after it is activated on...
Well it was several years ago (2012) and I haven't had any reason to talk with him about it since, so maybe I got some of his statements mixed up in my memory of the conversation.
In any event, I know that he didn't want a car sitting around waiting for the right buyer to show up who could do...
The reason that a dealer doesn't offer anything "extra" for modifications was explained by a friend of mine who is a dealer. When he goes to sell the car it is looked at as whatever the VIN reports by the lender, and the modifications mean nothing for value to the lenders.
So the car sitting...
I'm sure that they will look for something to indicate an impact, but they already looked at it when I stopped in, and there is no evidence of impact on the mirror. I looked it over when I got home to see if someone had messed with it while it was parked.
But I agree, people will do something...
I was surprised too when they said the entire assembly has to be replaced. I've removed the mirror on my other Mustangs in the past and worked on them, and one of my daughters worked for a tier one supplier who does the mirrors and she said that it is an easy fix based on the assembly process. I...
I was driving the other day and caught movement in my driver side rear view mirror in my peripheral vision. Looked over and at first thought it odd because there wasn't anything next to me. Then I noticed something hanging below my mirror.
Rolled the window down at the stop sign and reached...
The "chip" tuners essentially are simply resistors and such to trick your computer make the car run leaner. They don't tune anything, they just give the computer false information by masking what it receives so that your car computer adjusts as if your AFR is different from what it actually is.
I have a second set of wheels and snow tires for my performance package GT here in SE Michigan. That set means that I run a 255-40x19 set up on all four corners. Seems to work fine for me this past winter of 2023 and 2024 (used the same wheel and tire set up on my 2019 EcoBoost). The speedometer...
Not today but Saturday, only got online today.
New windshield went on. Rock hit the passenger side, low and on the edge, and that resulted in an over foot long crack. Replaced with OEM windshield. Recalibration of the camera and electronics completed successfully and nice clean windshield now...
Called my insurance company. Getting my replacement windshield Saturday morning. Every day the crack grows bigger, moving up almost to the middle of the windshield today.
Not today but Friday - washed the car to get ready for a trip to the drag strip yesterday (Saturday). As I was cleaning he windshield a "glint" caught my eye coming around to the passenger side. Apparently a rock hit me at some time right on the edge of the windshield and now there is a crack...
Did an oil change on it, and emptied the air/oil separator catch can. After 6,000 miles the can was about 3/4 full.
I need to pull the air filters off this afternoon and wash them.
