Congrats OzzieRoss - My DH is probably about 2 months away and I'm also in Perth.
Where are you taking yours for PPF and what areas are you doing? I have mine booked in at Madinc as soon as it arrives.
Just thought I'd mention that an Aussie over at the FordForums mentioned his old S550 spare fits perfectly over the DH brakes and in the spare wheel well. His S550 spare is the official Ford spare which he just removed from his S550 before selling it.
In short, it seems we will have many...
Sorry to hear that Steve. I was convinced your luck has turned when you were able to find an Atlas blue allocation. Hope you get sorted in no time and make a full recovery.
I haven't received the "shipped" email from Ford either, but I think it's because my car is actually still in Baltimore waiting to get on a ship. Ask your dealer for a screenshot of the order in Vista. That will show you where the car is, and whether it's on a ship or not. I'll be getting such...
It is true that a hub dyno typically reads higher than a roller dyno. In this scenario, we do know what other cars make on that same dyno. See Mustang Motorsports comment on the video. The old S550's typically made 300kw on the same dyno where the new S650 makes 320kw. So for the S650 to make...
We will need to see as we get more data. I mean this is just one car. There are variances between different cars, but the difference between what we were expecting and what this made is big. I dont think its possible that its just a lucky powerful sample they got.
Yeah I mean there might be other explanations, but the only thing I can think of is that these cars are indeed underrated in Aus, and they are making more than what Ford Aus are quoting.
Probably should say "roughly equivalent", but correct yes.
Some time ago John Cadogan had a decent video on the subject.

It was reported that there are header differences, but maybe that doesn't affect the power as much as anticipated? Not sure. Or Ford improved our stock tune after the fact?
There are two different measurements for Octane. One is called the Research Octane Number (RON). It's used in most of the world. The other is called the Motor Octane Number (MON). The US and Canada average the two tests. The tests are different; MON is a more sensitive test than the RON test...
Here is a video from Mustang Motorsport with the new Aussie version of an S650 GT.
Interesting comment on this video and Mustang Motorsports reply!
Doesnt look like our cars are down on power compared to the US cars at all. And with only 40-50kg weight difference between the S650 and S550...
@AussieBob we are probably on the same boat (pardon the pun). My car has also been in Baltimore since 11 July. Got a new Vista screenshot yesterday. No shipping details, ETA 7Nov. I'm in WA.
If you look at the schedules at www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules, there aren't many options to get...
Haha, I've been having the exact same thoughts DFB. Mine are on their way to me and my car is who knows where, but I'm already thinking do I trust them to install this $400 set of brackets? Probably not....
Yeah Tysla and Morning Lily only left very recently and if it isnt on one of those then I dont see how that 7 Nov ETA will be achieved. Not sure if that ETA is to port or to dealer but irrespective it wont be at port or dealer by 7 Nov if it isnt on one of those two vessels that already left...
FFS, I got a new Vista screenshot today. Car still in Baltimore, no vessel, and the ETA changed to 7 Nov.
Not sure how that is going to pan out seeing there are no more ships it can get on according to the schedule that will get it here in that timeframe.
Unless it got on a earlier vessel...
Nice video 👍
These brackets do look like good quality items. I ordered two slimline brackets, plinth, and Kingpin covers for mine today.
Also, my SVE jack pads from LMR rocked up today. Yay, slowly things are coming together.
