Well this just made this easy. Based off the photos I posted what product would you get? Just finished his video. It looks like surface shield is the top dog
Awesome. Yeah once I get franks parts I actually planned to seal the hole with some sort of RTV to ensure it’s locked for good. You will have to excuse all the questions but you said these prevent rust what about the surface rust that looks like it’s already there? No scuffing needed? Just spray...
For anyone wondering it looks like the best route will be a scotchbrite pad for gentle agitation as @SSuperDave suggested then rust reformer. The product label states that oil based paint can be used to go over it within 4 hours and 3 days for lacquer paint. I have a brand new genuine ford paint...
Yeah I just don’t know what they mean when they say remove it. Am I taking sandpaper to it? The product alone is supposed to turn the rust into a paintable surface. That’s what threw me off.
Yeah I know. I have found a rust reformer. I don’t know if I should just sandpaper it down or what. I want to make sure I handle it properly. Franks solution should be here in 1-2 weeks he told me.
How could I go about a potential warranty repair? I have a good relationship with an advisor at my local one. Just don’t know what would would need to be said to enact this going through warranty.
Got with frank and purchased his solution. I am sadly a year too late this issue should be highlighted for all to see. I can’t make out if this is rust or lots of dirt and what steps I need to do to fix this correctly. Thanks for your feedback. What a letdown to start the new year.
Yeah just emailed him I hope he gets back to me soon I want to pay for these asap I will probably put tape in the meantime. I’m 13,000 miles in with my 2024 and I never once looked at these holes. I’m at work and will be checking immediately when I get home. What a huge bummer.
