My big concern with this vehicle is the performance.
Look at the tires. Not something you would normally see on a performance car. Now, they could be 235/50-18s, like a GT would have, but they certainly are not bigger than that.
The twin exhaust would make it seem like it could be somewhat...
Spectre is right. Call it an LTD and you will see it die a painful death. The name does matter. I don't know if the name Mustang has to be associated with it, but I am not sure it's a bad thing either. If the Maverick moniker had not been used with a truck, I could easily have seen it called...
I would be EXTREMELY happy if there was a stretched mustang that offered 4 doors and 4 passenger seating (not 5). V8 or similar power and power adders available. Right now, the car I am looking at is a scat pack Charger. I would rather buy a Ford.
At this point, they may be waiting for the chip shortage issue to start going away before doing anything. Like it or not, most vehicles have a surprisingly high number of computer chips in them, and designing things like displays, controls, etc. require companies to know what will be available...
As a child of the 80s, I remember the Mustang II, the fox bodies, etc. She is right, they were never great designs. The SN95 was good for the time, but only because it had been so bad previously. The Camaro was pretty bad, but I always thought the firebird beat all of them. Especially the...
Right now, I agree the infrastructure for EVs is not there. However, there is also the matter of technology for charging the batteries. Right now, the current battery tech presents a limitation to how fast the batteries can recharge to full...or even 80 percent. There is also the issue of...
RWD or RWD biased AWD setup. 4 doors, slightly longer...200 inches or so A little more headroom would be nice, but that's ok too. Think 8 series GC size.
V8 with options for a turbo 4 or 6, maybe hybrid setup or a pure electric model.
Interior should be of similar quality to the current...
When I was commuting on a regular basis, my commute was 180 miles a day (I have worked from home for the past 12 years). Most years, we go and visit family, which is 800+ miles away and my wife and I do it in a single one day drive (in the future, this might be a 1200 mile one way trip). With...
I would have purchased an Australian Falcon in a heartbeat. The only reason I didn't buy the Chevy SS was because it came out the year after I purchased my last car.
Beautiful concept, but it would never make it to production.
For a production car, put more realistic tires/wheels on it. The wheels are too big and fill out the wells too much for production and I doubt ford would ever put a fender vent on a non-specialty car. The back end is a very nice...
Sadly, names like Thunderbird, Maverick, Falcon, Galaxie, Toreno, etc. no longer have meaning for many Ford fans, or even general car fans. Most of those with the money to spend on these names (aka, those in late 30s to mid 50s) would barely remember these names, or only as bloated land yachts...
It will depend on battery tech IMO. If they can get long range (400+ mile) and short charge (5-10 minutes for 80 percent, 20 for full), then electric vehicles will end up ruling. They have better performance, the ability to recapture much of the energy wasted during breaking, and lower center...
honestly, that looks like a Buick...maybe a Buick Riveria if they brought that back. IMO, it does not look like a Mustang. That said, the Probe didn't looks like a Mutang either, and they thought that would be ok...
There won't be a fancy DCT in the base mustangs. Honestly, I am shocked that there is still an option for a manual. Maybe for the halo mustangs (GT500, 350, etc. but I doubt it)
