I bought an aftermarket one for a lot less money that looks identical to the Ford one. It fits great and I reused my emblem with the tape that they included. I agree that it needs to be black back there specially on lighter colored cars.
Around town on a 10 speed, 290 range, highway, 400, running mid 70s mph. Amazing mileage for what it is. I have shown as high as 36 mpg on the display, with cruise on 62 mph.
64, 2024 base GT, this is my 8th Mustang. I've had 20+ Chevelles and El Caminos over the last 25 years, but our daily drivers have all been Fords, with one exception.
I really like it a lot, but in order for it to work, IMHO, it will need a full space gray interior, not just grey inserts. The Fox bodies with teal and white interior were some of the most eyecatching cars of the '90's. Corvettes used that combo to good effect as well.
The transmissions do have adaptive shift, which will learn your driving habits. Typically, if a failure occurs, its in the 50-70K mile range. Just drive it and enjoy it and deal with the problem if and when it arises. Factory warrant will cover it for 5 years, 60K miles, if you are one who keeps...
I could not find any offset quad tips in chrome, and I hated the single tip so bad that I got an NXT quad tip axleback and used the online template to trim the valance. It fills the holes and looks and sounds exactly like I wanted, but you can still see the mufflers like the OP mentions. I'm not...
Accelerate to speed, set the cruise, zero the mileage and that's what I got I didn't hand calculate anything. I left with a full tank showing range of 300 miles when I shut it off and got more gas and filled up it showed range of 390.
What's the saying? Your mileage may vary
I drove from Houston to Austin and back, what's on the highway reset the mileage indicator and did get 35 both ways running between 75 and 80 mph I was amazed.
I asked my trans tech about this SSM, he has seen it and says it is normal, and the even the 10R80 in the F-150 will do it if it sits long enough. What you want to watch for are any changes in the way it works, if it does the same thing all the time and all of a sudden gets worse or different...
Main one is CDF drum failure, causes erratic shifting and delayed engagement and harsh engagement in drive and reverse. Some with torque converter shudder and auto stop/start pump failure.
Sadly, its a matter of when rather than if. Extended warranties will cover all this, and an increasing...
