Same here. Maybe in some big luxo-barge, a larger engine with a 6000 rpm redline would be more appropriate, but I dig having a V8 that can rev to over 7000 rpm and feel like it wants to keep going.
Exactly. From everything I've read, the Mach E is a terrific car, but it should not have been branded as a Mustang. Want to make a sedan based on the Mustang chassis? Great. Call it Fusion, Torino, Futura, Galaxie, or some other well-remembered name from Ford's past. Not Mustang!
That brings back memories. The one vehicle I ever got from my parents was when I was in the sixth grade. My mom bought the cheapest Huffy bicycles that K-Mart carried for my brother and me. My dad blew his top that she spent money on such a needless luxury. I really felt ashamed for getting...
As others have pointed out, the Coyote needs to be wound out more than the Chevrolet's larger engine before making maximum power. Want faster acceleration? Downshift.
I'm going to make an argument for these driver aids. I love cars with manual transmissions, and it doesn't bother me that I live in a place that is very hilly. My wife can drive a stick shift but prefers not to. Being at a red light on an uphill slope is intimidating for people who only drive...
Car companies try something new, sometimes it sticks, sometimes it doesn't. As an example, everyone followed Tesla in putting almost all controls on a touchscreen. There has been a fair amount of backlash, and now car companies are saying that they will be bringing back more physical buttons...
So, what about the hood? In previous generations of Mustangs, there were no gas struts. You lifted the hood from underneath, used the prop rod to hold it open, and dropped it again while keeping your fingers on the underside of the hood. With the gas strut hoods, do you press down from the...
Based on comments I have read on other threads, the built-in Ford navigation can still be used after the free year is up, but you don’t get data updates. You could use it for a couple of years without updates, then subscribe for a year to get up-to-date map data again.
Or, as has already been...
It would be nice if Ford would let people know when they will stop taking orders for the 2026 model year, and when they will start production of the 2027s. Also, of course, what the changes will be for 2027, besides the usual price increase.
I'm sure that practically everyone considers driving gloves to be an anachronism, but I always use them in my Mustang. I figure it's part of the full-blown sports car experience.
The top-speed governor is set at 155 mph in the Mustang GT and 168 mph in the Dark Horse. With previous generations of Mustangs, the top-speed governor could be disabled with a custom tune, but I haven't heard anything about that for the S650. Has anybody read anything about this possibility...
This is not a 7th-generation Mustang, obviously, but since we're on the topic of painting black plastic trim, I thought I'd share a few before-and-after photos of my 2011. I special-ordered it and already knew what cosmetic modifications I wanted to make once it came in. Here it is in stock...
