I think that we have lost the intent of my original post. It was only meant to compare a 6.2 liter V8 producing 490 HP to a 5.0 one producing 486. I am still impressed with Fords’ engineering in that accomplishment!
Yes, at nearly 5,000 rpm for the torque peak on the 5.0, it is WAY up there. I hear that the 5.0 is a monster between there and the 7,500 rpm redline…….Have to do that someday, I guess……lol….
The entry level C8 6.2 (!!) liter V8 produces 490 HP. By comparison our little 5.0 nearly matches that at 486 — AND the DH version has more @500! Pretty nice for ” just a pony car”, right?
And yes, I do know how much quicker the C8 is off the line and in the 1/4 mile because the weight of the...
Yup, got it on the timer, and still starts explosively — too loud for my 55+ community standards! I have the timer set so the only time it is NOT in quiet mode is between 2 AM and 3AM.
I am thinking that reprogramming the dash for the adjustable exhaust when added might be a bigger challenge? If you don’t mind the exhaust being quieter all of the time, I am sure your local muffler shop will have solutions for you…I have the optional Ford exhaust and even when quiet mode is...
I was today’s day old when I first saw this while washing the car. I suspect this is unique to the PP 1 and 2, but etched into the black strip above the “GT“ badge on the back of the trunk is the word “PERFORMANCE” in tiny little indented letters!(
You can do it N/B from Elkin, OR as well. And you’ll see snow capped peaks in late June as you climb to over 4,800 feet! LOVE this drive, but it is taxing as you really have to concentrate on the switchback's…..marked @25 mph, taken at 45+, you know? Very little shoulder to this road, and no...
We’ve done this a couple of times, but not for a few years. Did it yesterday in our 2024 GT Premium PP1 and had a blast! Did not count the number of curves, but has to be 60 to 70 or so, climbing into the Blue Mountains (3,800 feet altitude or so). Set your nav for Asotin, WA, and when you get...
As stated in the title, do the updates for the car come from Ford without our asking (and do we get some notice on the screen that this is being or has been done?) We’ve only owned ours for less than a month now, and have not seen anything related to this from Ford, and ours was a still new...
Wish I’d seen the console shelf along with the door pockets…….just ordered the console tray separately and had to pay more when ordered alone…..oh well….
No more having things falling to the floor. GREAT place for your cell phone or your wallet on long trips! Unless you are storing something in them, you will never know they are even there….BTW, they are less expensive over on Amazon, but you can’t link their listings…...
I check my own tire’s PSI often enough and adjust it for ambient temps here (can get from -20 to +110 during the year), so I’ve` never had any problem at all with the caps fusing to the stems….
New anti-corrosion tire stem covers with a tiny Mustang on them…..my newest “mod”……lol….all of the white at the top is reflection from the camera flash. They really are solid black where they should be
If GM did this, they would have to improve the 14” tall side windows. We rented one on vacation a couple of years ago, and could not even see the scenery outside without stopping and getting out of the car! Worst car for visibility I’ve ever been in….besides being cartoonish on the outside as well.
Hmmm……….you say you are not very “mechanical?”…….boy, a swap like this is incredibly complex and mechanically intense. Look at your budget for this, then triple it……I personally don’t have pockets deep enough to even know where to begin a project this intricate and demanding!
