Everyone in this thread has some valid points; It really depends on what you plan to do with the car.
The first thing I would recommend is that you sit down and have a really REALLY honest conversation with yourself. This is the mistake I made with my 2021 GT. I slapped on a Roush Phase 2 with...
Yes and no. I love the supercharger experience itself; agnostic of brand. I was looking forward to the Procharger as I've never owned a car with that type of boost before and wanted to experience it however they are stuck in limbo.
My 2021 GT Premium had a Roush Phase 2 in it (no other...
@robvas most likely headers and open air boxes? Dunno, I've already measured my johnson once in my lifetime so for me it's not an issue of whether it's better than the guy with the Stage 2 cause it won't be hence why the Stages go in sequential numbers.
I run 94 Octane + Stage 1 + Comp Open Air...
That may be true too although the only person I have heard say that is the guy from Murphy’s garage but then after he did some extensive testing said no it was actually pretty accurate. 810 is crank not wheel horsepower. At wheel the stage one kit will get you about 705 to 710 depending on all...
Negative I had a break-in. Of about 1800 to 2000 km and then took it in.
I guess the point I’m trying to make is for me personally a stage two is a little bit overkill. I applaud guys that get them and run them at the track going for personal bests and all the rest of it but for me on the...
Lol, that was gonna be my next step. I had to do that for that guy that was supposedly buying a dark horse for himself and a dark horse for his daughter and he was in law-enforcement and he “needed something that allowed him to do high-speed chases” in a civilian car. The bullshit just got too...
I went with the stage one option because there is zero fuss or muss If something goes wrong, I bring it to the dealership that installed it and they take care of what they need to take care of. If a little bit of money comes out of pocket then so be it, but as others have mentioned when you play...
I agree with @Bikeman315 if you weren’t happy with the car, then boost it or sell it.
Coming from a boosted S550, which was an automatic, stepping into the dark horse with manual tremec has been a joy to experience. However, going from 750 down to 500 was a bit of a disappointment but only for...
For those looking to go route I did;
- Dark Horse with HP
- Steeda Sport Progressive Lowering Springs
- 20x10 Front Wheels (any brand really)
- 285/35R20 front tires (Nitto NT555 G2)
BE WARNED!!!!
You are going to run into what I can only describe as "grazing". Not actually rubbing the fender...
Your GT doesn't have the Fender Flares of a Dark Horse. I'm talking about this area. Ford replaced these on both sides this week when the supercharger was installed and now this one seems to be missing. Not sure if it's popping out or if my 285/35R20 are rubbing under braking or acceleration or...
Thank you! Yes, it does get a LOT of attention on the street and I do love these 20" VF10s however I can't be peeling the fender flares pins off every time I hit the brakes :)
Maybe the guys at @VELGEN WHEELS can provide a recommendation on the front tires? Everything else about them is fine...
LOL just saw this on FB Dark Horse group. So they are 20s!!!
Your front tire doesn't rub against the front most corner plastic "pin" that holds on the fender flare against the wheel well? My 285/35R20 on my Velgen VF10 has rubbed out those pins on both sides. The difference between 275 and 285...
Boo, just noticed my 20" rims with the 285/35R20 front tires are popping the little plugs that hold the fender flares in place on the upper corner closest to the front of the car.
Guess it was a bridge too far to hope that an already low car, lowered an additional 0.8" with aftermarket springs...
I have some McKee's 37 N-914 and some Meguiar's Hyper Dressing on the way! Good thing I have a ton of Coscto yellow rags lol. Save my good stuff for the body.
