My spare tire kit arrived from ModernSpare so I'm not pretty much ready for the Tail of the Dragon road trip in July. Will still bring a patch kit and my portable jumper/compressor (I only use the compressor feature) but don't need the heavy 1.5T low profile Vivor floor jack!

Or you could drive to Blackstock Ford in Orangeville and get 14 hours labour at $149.00 an hour. Call them and see what they are charging for a Stage 1 kit. I ordered mine before the see-saw stuff started and paid $13793.10 for the kit and $2693.92 for the labour.

If you are NOT lowered a 20x10 will be no problem. A 285/35R20 should also be okay but check with whomever you are buying the wheels from. If you ARE lowered then most companies recommend 275/35R20 or 285/30R20 to prevent any kind of liner rub under load.

I paid roughly $16500.00 CAD for the Stage 1 kit and the install. The Comp Open Air and Catch Cans were extra.

Just got back from a 350km round trip overnighter with the car. That damn first pin, left side, near the bottom of the chin splitter, popped out AGAIN!!! I have a feeling I'm going to need to order about 50 of these pins until I get the time to strip the flares off, clean them and the fender...

No. I do not run square. I had 285 front and 315 rear

My guess is not lowered. Mine was lowered on 20s and it fit with a 35 sidewall. 285/35R20 with a Steeda Sport Progressive drop. The 285 might have been a bit much; they recommend 275/35R20 or 285/30R20.

Yeah; I watched their video on it. However, it's the trade off. Time, on the off chance you need it, vs weight all the time you drive the car.

I ended up ordering the kit once they confirmed it all fits in the spare well, along with your corroborating post @smurfslayer As @roadpilot pointed out; bringing my tool box with me to change out a spare is a ton of extra weight.

And I shall raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaise the dead. Does anyone have the installation instructions for the DH one? I'm going to attempt to redo my existing ones with new pins, new tape and new adhesive promter before ordering a $1000.00 kit for both sides.

You wouldn't happen to have the instructions for installing them would you? I'm going to try redoing my existing ones with new pins and double sided tape + adhesive promoter.

Oh I hear ya!!! The 1.5T low profile is about 35lbs alone and a patch kit isn't my favourite idea on a 1500km each way road trip.

Did some reearch on this product. Very informative. This might be the ticket. Assuming it works similar to whatever this guy was using. Sadly, this video shows the install but has no detail other than "watch me for 18 seconds"

Thanks! Yeah I did some digging too. Took about 10 mins and found the R and L sides (no kit yet). @LevittownFordParts has a kit put together that includes PR3Z16268-A and PR3Z16268-B plus the pins however getting those up here to Canada might be a little pricy. I'll see what Blackstock Ford...

Did anyone get the Modern Spare kit and get it to fit into the spare tire well in the trunk? Debating full kit vs just wheel/tire and then tote my own low profile floor jack and associated tools, on long road trips.

Do you have the part number of the box that was supplied with your flares in it? I'm going to order a net new set for install.
