It's not usually a choice.
Especially for the DH It's only been recently that you could get one for under MSRP.
Right now there are deals on new 2025s, but to me those cars are already one year old regardless of whether they have ever been titled.
The best discounts I've seen on a 2026 DH are...
I mentioned elsewhere that a $76K BMW M2 is worth $65K if you drive it out of the dealer's driveway and immediately turn around and drive it back in.
I would imagine that same ~$11K hit would be true if you did the same with any S650 V8 of equivalent price level.
This one was all on me.
I didn't seriously consider a DH and a GT optioned the way I wanted would have been just a few thousand dollars short of one.
However, five different Ford dealers near me I checked with said they got allocations for one DH per year, so if I wanted to order one it would...
I have never owned, nor will I ever purchase a vehicle with an automatic.
Shifting a manual is part of the joy of driving and why I buy cars for fun rather than a Camry.
An automatic just takes away all of that for me as do vehicles that have things like auto rev-matching that cannot be...
To me, the Tremec is worth $5K or more for its sharp, almost gated shifts.
The GT I had been looking at had MagneRide and the Performance Package so it was a de facto DH anyway.
No Recaros on either.
Oh, I know that, same as with any other car.
Actual loss of value on the car is $11K, the other $6K taxes.
The same would be true if you turned around and traded in a new 2026 DH for something else.
I've asked a similar question elsewhere:
Cost to get out of a BMW M2 and into a DH would be around $17K including tax and title.
That is quite a lot, but on the other hand I'm at an age where this may be my last new car, and it's almost definitely going to be one of the last 500 HP NA V8s...
The Sport exhaust mode rattles I heard while driving a GT all seemed to be from the rear, perhaps where the rear seats latch.
They went away with the exhaust in normal or quiet modes.
As I said, current model year (2026) no, not really.
Interesting as those are the very things I would not order.
It's hard to find a stock DHP for me as I want hood stripe delete, no Recaros and no handling package, and most dealers order at least the Recaros.
To get back to the topic of the thread, how are DH owners dealing with the NVH issues?
It's one thing to say "turn up the stereo," but every time I've test driven a GT, when in Sport mode the exhaust would make the entire interior resonate at some RPM or another, and that would drive me up the...
KBB's values are pure fantasy.
I've never known a dealer that didn't laugh at their trade-in values, and I've never met anyone who got their private party sale value for a private party sale. 🤷♂️
