The oil is a gimmicky, don't bother. Its very high in detergents, which is completely unnecessary for a new car.

Yes, an ICE can provide additional power to the electric drivetrain, wether through physical torque, or through electric charge to the battery. The downside is the added weight and complexity.

As for oils, I can't tell you which since tribology is out of my depth, but factory 5w-30 seems to work well in testing, as well as Valvoline. If you want to spend mucho money, Amsoil is very good, but puts a dent...

Early series 1 and 2 spyders still on occasion peak my interest. The later model years became quite stale though.
