To me, the back of the S650 seems to suggest that the designer may have been into hallucinogenics. What I can’t really yet explain is how it got past the design table to the production floor.

The whole stick a screen in the drivers face and call it a day is currently pervasive in automotive design. In my opinion it’s the epitome of laziness, microeconomics and lack of imagination.

It looks much better as a GT than the DH. And that is an excellent example. still can’t get into the rear redesign…too Civic R for me and staring at IPads stuck to my dash in my face in a performance car doesn’t appeal to me. As far as vs. the gen 2 above, I think the contrast difference...

It’s not dated it’s simply different and you’re used to seeing it vs. something new and bold. Nicer? Depends on the person looking at it. I’ve seen some 2013 Boss 302’s I’d have any day in place of my car. I think the DH looks like a raccoon honestly, with the GT looking the better of the two...

There is no such thing as a base Mach 1. It’s either a Mach 1 PP or Mach 1 HP.

I believe you’re correct. But does it really matter? It’s still the same basic S550 look. I think the greenhouse is a little taller on the 650 also. Looks like someone pulled or stretched an S550 roof in photoshop.

It’s still a coattail design on the S550. I’d bet Maran is just gaslighting to get more clicks / views and then will be back with a glowing report about how wrong he was, and will buy two with the monetized content he does and the circle continues. so predictable. Just like @DeluxeStang said...

It’s simply a coattail S550 design by default refreshed by a younger staff who incorporated more of the transformer look the current generation of graduates of automotive design have embraced. Hopefully it’ll have the performance on paper to overcome/enhance the realities of the physical...

I don’t think I’d consider buying another Mustang simply because they have ignored quality issues like this literally for years with the S550. For me, it’s a slap in the face of the most ardent supporters. This is underscored by the fact that it has still been ignored through the redesign and...
