This is likely them nailing down an interior that will work with an upcoming hybrid/EV drivetrain as well with minimal changes. Would be amazed if we hear there is a hybrid added in 2025, 26 or 27.
If I remember Lund stopped doing anything pre 2005 so now his whole market is stuck with just 15~yrs of range that will slowly dwindle. Companies like MRT, ironically founded by a ex-Ford New Edge Bullitt/Mach1 engineer, will go away, they do just intakes and exhausts.
I suspect anyone that...
Yes but for Ford to be able to update it, that means that it has to be re-writeable. Fords NOT gonna pump out whole new PCM's for every update/recall. I also find it unlikely, but possible, that Ford will make tuning companies sell a pre-tuned PCM with their Super/turbocharge kits. If they do...
Yes, but nothing is unhackable. Saying something is is just ignorance. Likely the price to aquire multiple vehicles AND enough electrical/security understanding will be a much higher hurdle than just "can it be done".
The whole reason Cobb Tuning exists is because it's owner hacked what Subaru...
Factory has never wanted cars tuned back to the 60's. Welcome to reality.
Unlocking a PCM has nothing to do with any weird problems that's entirely on the person doing the tuning.
Literally all your worries have been reality since .....well since tuning existed. What's you're point?
That doesn't make it "impenetrable". It took 4 yrs to hack the PS3 and that had a lot more people trying to hack it than care about hacking the C8. Not a lot of hackers can actually even afford a C8 to spend time trying to hack. Tuners are basically relying on their software developers to...
Not likely, but they showed like 8-9 wheel designs from the slide show they had with a few new colors so hopefully they are letting you pick/choose more.
All the matte black on the front of the Dark Horse (utterly hate that name) makes it look really bad IMO. the GT Looks a bit better, but the EcoBoost, sadly, is the best looking of the generation so far.
They mention during the event how they know people LOVE to customize their mustangs and make it theirs then went on to talk about the 3 brake options and many wheel and color options they will be introducing. Limiting how you can modify your car is the OPPOSITE of embracing that.
I'm going to have to see it in other colors, but im just NOT a fan of a lots of black lines/vents/fins all over the front of my car. The GT350 managed to strike a balance that looked good on other colors than something dark. I don't think the DH can do the same with all that it has going on...
Which also takes away from the whole hting they went on about how people customize their cars. it will be impossible to make any car YOURS as it will be limited in what you can do to it. When you are limited to just 1 super charger that everyone else has.... personally why would I care about it...
Being functional doesn't make it LOOK good, and most people aren't gonna take a GT to 160+ so who gives a shit? 3% of buyers? Give me a car that LOOKS good first. If you can't make Form and Function blend, your a shit designer, cuz that's the POINT of your job.
