I'm expecting the S650 front bumper to be a blend of Mach1 and Mach-E, the rear to be very S550 based with the Mondeo tails, and the hood to be a little wider with less fender space on the sides, at least giving it the LOOK of being wider even if its not.
IN NO way would it be DOA. By that logic the 2005 Mustang GT was DOA for being slower than the 2004 Mach1. I think its blatantly stupid to expect a car that's likely going to be about 48k with the performance package to perform like a car that was 60+K the year before. Be your own logic the...
I'm keeping my expectations lower. I'm thinking we will see a 5.0 that's a merger of the Bullitt/Mach1 and F-150 versions with power in the 470-500 range, and the handling will be "on par" with the PPL2 minus the wider/sticky stock rubber those got. Basically, a Mach1 track pack will have an...
Other than gearing the MT-82 hasn't had issues since they revised it in 2019. So... I would buy another without blinking an eye. Only reason to get the Tremmec is to spend more money for 0 return IMO.
My suspicions are that the new 5.0 will be the Bullitt/Mach1 engine, PPL1 is likely mostly standard, and that the new 5.0 MAY get the cylinder deactivation from the F-150. Which means that using a Bullitt mule may make sense.
I found the shifter position in my old Mach1 much nicer than the one in my current Bullitt. I also have never used a door bin in my life. I have NO idea why they even still exist. The only reason I've ever seen to use them is to hold maps, but who cares a map anymore?
You had me till there, the S197 interior I found the be the key reason I didn't trade my 2003 Mach1 for one. I UTTERLY hated that interior and found it bland, generic, and boring AF. To me in comparison the SN95 felt more spacious and creative. It's the ONLY reason despite me still really...
Hatch is when its like the back end of a Golf or SUV. Lift is when it's much more slanted. Thats really the biggest difference. In the US we just call them the same thing.
So i'm seeing S550 with Mach-E headlights and tails from that Chinese Ford Fusion.
I have a feeling that it will make the front and rear look huge with smaller lights on them.
To be honest I'd rather it underwhelms than WAY to aggressive. A good example is the 10th and 11th gen Civic. 10th was WAY too aggressive IMO with all the fake vents, and the 11th is toned down, almost too much.
If they are using the Red Sport engine with no changes it already has a dual core heat exchanger on it to help with heat. I think the brakes will be the weak spot as its seems They haven't been addressed for added cooling.
Let's also not forget that the FM platform is coming up on 21yrs old and the engine is 5. Its about as old as the NewEdge was when it came out. At least the NE 01-2004 Cobra/Mach1 were a refreshed versions of a powerplant from 5yrs ago(1996), this is the exact same engine. Not even a...
The new Nissan Z will definitely be compared to the GT as its RWD, manual and going to have 400+HP. with the new one being on an updated version of the older platform it will likely be 3450lbs or under. Sure, 80HP less, but also 300-400lbs less.
I still suspect those engines are underrated as...
