Wow….. little too much European sports car vibe and not enough mustang if you ask me…. The double hump dash is as important to the mustang as the Tri Bar tail lights IMO.
That being said, looks like the entertainment system is the new android automotive based (sync 5?) system Ford announced...
It is a way to have slightly lower profit margins on the EV side without angering Ford shareholders since the EV side is a separate business now.
Basically allows them to hide all of the costs associated with transitioning the larger business to EVs (plant upgrades, new material contracts...
What evidence do you have to say EVs don’t last that long? And where do you get 100k miles to 80%? Battery warranties are typically 100k to 80% not actual battery life…. There are 10+ year old Teslas on the road with over 90% original capacity remaining.
Here is real world data to back up my...
Lets put this into another perspective…. How many gasoline engines do you know that can comfortably exceed 300k miles without needing an overhaul/rebuild? How many transmissions? Rear differential? What do you think the typical cost is for a complete powertrain replacement?
Now why do you think...
Sooooooo..... You are part of that 10% I mentioned where current EVs don't quite meet the needs of yet.... (FYI the Lucid Air which is in production now can go 520 miles on a charge and a prototype battery developed for a Model S has achieved 751 miles to a charge just recently) And if you...
At risk of turning this into another EV debate..... How many daily drivers have you owned past the 10 year mark? Those Teslas with 90% capacity remaining have over 200k miles on them in most cases. Its not about the timeframe but the usage... Battery life is measured in charge cycles (0-100%)...
Battery degradation hasn't been a problem for YEARS.... Modern day Lithium Ion batteries last longer than the car can be expected to remain on the road. There are Teslas on the road approaching the 10 year mark with over 90% of their capacity remaining. A Model 3 battery pack has a life...
I have seen these before as well and would 100% buy one if it was a Full EV based on the Mach E.... My hope would be that rumored 4 door would be exactly this but sadly I don't think that is going to be the case...
Yes and no. I have a standard range Model 3 (55kwh battery) and my monthly electric bill only went up about $30-40 for roughly 2500 miles of driving per month (only supercharge on long trips, 99.99% of charging is at home). A PHEV will have a significantly smaller battery (usually in the 15kwh...
I really do hope these hybrids are for MY23…. Would make sense to have the base engine be a hybrid 2.3 with a hybrid V8 and NA V8 option. MY25 could see the introduction of a plug in Hybrid AWD V8 (like a Shelby variant). With that, the rumor of a hybrid in 25 is still correct, just expanded to...
If a hybrid is coming in 23 then I wouldn’t expect it to be a v8 hybrid. Simple reason is that it wouldn’t be a manual if it was a hybrid. I would expect the EB4 to get the electric assisted 10 speed.
The whole "hybrid in 2025" thing has me thinking someone might be confusing things.... Introducing "a" hybrid in 2025 just seems way too late considering Dodge will have their BEV charger/challenger out by then. Seems more logical that standard hybrids are coming at the very beginning of S650...
Think 2009 to 2010 S197.... New sheet metal and interior but a largely unchanged chassis/suspension. Drivetrains are the unknown. A hybrid in 2025 instead of at launch seems odd to me....
Godzilla based aluminum block 7.0L with a proper performance cam and intake (not truck optimized) can likely make close to what the GT500 is putting out now NA (with an intake swap and LTs the Godzilla is capable of around 650hp NA). Couple that with an electric 10 speed and not only will it be...
If they do come out with a Godzilla based 427-429 ci (7.0L) hybrid, my only hope is that it would be affordable enough for me to buy one....
Realistically though, if something like that materializes, I am likely going to be priced out of the market as it will be some specialty variant...
I can almost guarantee you that the majority of people buying the 2 door coupe do NOT care what platform it is riding on. As long as they keep it fresh and competitive people will buy it regardless of the platform it still rides on. You are more then likely NOT getting a all new ICE Mustang, BEV...
