I get it. If the pad and info system worked like it should I wouldn’t have bought it. Between taking the case off (never tested) and having to plug the USB cable in randomly for audio issues, this works better for me.

My iPhone also gets hot using the pad. I also purchased a ProClip mount and used the wireless charger they had on the site. Way better in my opinion for my use.

I’ve went through the touchless gas station car washes a few times. Never had any issues. Nothing has leaked, top didn’t move around during the high speed dryer part. I would not use the touch one. I would imagine that probably leaves swirls eventually.

Did you pay with a credit card by any chance? I’d try to do a chargeback it seems you have enough proof you didn’t get what you paid for.
