I've encountered many people with S550 performance pack cars, but I'm struggling to recall if any of the owners ever mentioned having magneride. It doesn't seem to be very common. I have Mach 1 owner friends who obviously have it and they speak highly of it.
Interesting about the Ford Racing...
The front wheels are too narrow for those tires. With 20x9s I wouldn't put tires any wider than 265 on them. I've run 285s on 10 inch width wheels and the fit was perfect.
Exhaust volume is a personal preference thing, and I can understand wanting it quieter for a convertible cruiser. You definitely would have appreciated the active exhaust.
I had the A6 transmission in my '15 V6. At the time I thought it was OK but after getting the A10 in the '19 it seemed...
An H pipe generally doesn't impact the warranty except perhaps for parts of the exhaust itself (not the cats though). Obviously, things can be different depending on where you are located.
I agree. The delay was quite annoying in my S550 and although I haven't used the paddles much in the new one, there doesn't seem to be much improvement.
I never drove a stock performance pack S550, but the mods I did to the non PP car made a big difference in handling. In particular, the BMR...
Thanks. I don't really view the higher vs lower steering effort as necessarily good or bad as long as it can be adjusted. It seems interesting that it changed with the 2018 S550 refresh and then went back the other way with the S650. And it's strange that there was no change to the Ecoboost.
It would have been a more interesting comparison if the '19 GT had magneride and a 3.55 gear ratio. Even so, the transmission performance and quieter cabin are clear improvements. The quicker steering is noticeable, and I think I prefer it, but it's probably a matter of personal preference for...
I've now owned my 2026 Mustang GT A10 premium performance pack for a little less than 2 months. It's my 3rd Mustang. I previously owned a '19 GT premium for about 5.5 years. Prior to that I had a '15 V6. I thought I'd provide some early impressions of the car in comparison to my '19. Keep in...
"Stock" for the performance pack cars is 27.7 diameter in the rear, so 305/30 would be a little smaller. Also, the OP has previously expressed that he does not want a taller tire up front than the rear.
Those wheels are very nice!
This must be an S650 thing. I came from an S550 and don't recall seeing this issue discussed in the 6g forum.
I wonder what the threshold is for having problems. I currently have a GT performance pack with 27" diameter tires up front. The three front tire options I'm considering with...
It's the width. 10 inches is the maximum you can run with the same offset front and rear. A wider wheel with +35 offset in back will poke outside the fender and in front will contact the strut on the inside.
That's a big part of it. Another reason is to maximize traction up front. These cars have heavy front ends, so they need as much rubber as possible for hard cornering. That's why you often see 19x11 all the way around for track use.
No need to change the shocks and struts unless you are also replacing the springs and possibly other suspension components with the goal of better handling on twisty roads or track use.
Same with sway bars. They will help the car corner flatter but the car will ride a little stiffer. It won't...
I don't think he's going to be taking delivery of this car. He bought a BMW M2 and was contemplating replacing that with a Dark Horse. But I could (once again) be out of the loop. :)
Went to a classic car show as a spectator this morning to look at the cars. I parked next to a sweet Shelby GT350. By the time I left another friend had joined.
If it's this video, the comparison likely isn't valid. The owner with the H pipe says his mods are the H pipe and quad tips. This likely means his car has the non-active exhaust, which came with dual tips. So the two cars likely have different mufflers, which impacts the sound considerably.
I...
