Your kids will no longer be riding in the back seat of that Mustang well before they're out of your house. Unless you also have a plan to stunt their growth. :giggle:
GT MT82:
1st (3.237), 2nd (2.104), 3rd (1.422), 4th (1.000), 5th (0.814), and 6th (0.622).
Dark Horse Tremec:
1st (3.25:1), 2nd (2.23:1), 3rd (1.61:1), 4th (1.24:1), 5th (1.00:1), 6th (0.63:1).
As I recall the major change came with the 2018 refresh. The 15-17 GT MT82s had even lower ratios...
Congrats on the car! This plan looks good but I would do the stop the hop kit at the same time as the other suspension mods to save on installation cost unless you're doing it all yourself. Also, I would skip the differential bushing inserts on a daily driver. One question: why replace the front...
I noticed the same thing. It"s because the gear ratios in the manual GT are very tall. If the Dark Horse with the Tremec is like the Mach 1, it has lower gear ratios.
Also, a Dark Horse will handle quite a bit better than the non performance pack GT you drove.
I wasn't trying to be critical. Mostly making fun of myself for feeling like I was out of touch every time I come back to this forum. :) I understand why your appreciation for mountain road driving makes the M2 appealing.
Wow, you and @exm move too fast for me to keep up. 😆 So earlier this month you posted that your ordered GT had gone into production. Since then you must have canceled that order and bought an M2. Now you want to by a Dark Horse.
First, since you want a manual the Dark Horse would...
I ordered mine in September and it was ready at the dealership in 3 months, plus a few days. It seemed like it was taking 4 months for most people here who ordered in the summer of '25 but I've seen a couple who were quicker than mine.
The biggest variances seem to be in the time from when the...
Funny, I had actually forgotten you bought a set of those. If I had remembered, I would have been confused by this thread because I hadn't seen the post where you put them up for sale.
In response to the EPA restrictions of the 70s, both GM and Ford downsized certain models and released small cars with 4 cylinder engines like the Vega and Pinto. However, GM continued with the 2nd generation Camaro throughout the 70s while Ford downsized the Mustang to a glorified economy car.
Upon further thought the post I was referring to was about the Dark Horse handling package cars, which come with extreme performance tires.
Sorry to steer you wrong @exm
Yeah I wouldn't wait and reorder, either. I'm not sure how long that window of no summer tire cars is. I mean, they built mine on December 4. I expect it will still get built no later than March.
You ordered a performance pack car, right? I think someone here posted that Ford won't build cars that come with summer performance tires during the time when temperatures are coldest.
Edit: this is true only for Dark Horse handling package cars, not GT performance pack cars.
If you're going to keep the stock resonator in place, I recommend the Roush axle back. I had it on my S550 and loved it. Nice aggressive tone and clearly louder than stock but not excessively loud. It's less money than the Atak, too.
If you must have Borla, I agree the Atak will give you the...
Ah, that explains why I can't get the custom mode I want (normal steering with everything else in sport mode.) It seems ridiculous how many custom modes are available to save when the choices are so limited.
