To say it, I think the DH might be a very expensive marginal upgrade over a Mach 1. With that said, it’s seems a lot of people here just look at HP numbers and laugh at DH. Ford advertises it as a track ready car, so yes that is where one would expect to notice the difference. Tire width...
The 6spd Tremec is one of the main reasons to buy DH in my mind. Can’t imagine dropping a auto in that car - unless of course Ford wants to offer a dual clutch with PDK type performance
Got it.
From a car performance stand point the M1 and the DH will be a close match and spec. I would expect with the extra HP that the DH will be superior, but as far as chassis tuning and setup, brakes, cooling and aero, both the M1 and DH are superior spec to the GT (S550 and S650)...
Personally, I think the 2019 C7 Grand Sport is one of the holy grails of sports cars, especially under $100k.
If I wanted to spend $65k (ish) I would buy a C7 Grand Sport, period. In the $55k range cars like the Mustang and Camaro become more interesting as you get a brand new car with...
Have been working with Hayleigh on a quote and spec but have two concerns before pulling the trigger on an order:
1. My spec is GT Premium with PP / Mag / Night Pony. This spec will certainly have a longer lead time (fine with me) my concern / question is, Does Ford ship summer only tires cars...
Similar concerns here. As best I can tell, all but the Mach 1 and GT cars had cooling issues for actual track use. AutoX is probably fine given how short courses are
I'm, about ready to throw in the towel on the S650 given the inability to source a Dark Horse.
Frankly, I think the Dark Horse looks dumb, but I wanted it for the Tremec and cooling for track days. I prefer the looks of the GT in grabber blue with the black painted roof, but concerned I will...
Ford really has a way of making a product I want with zero ability to actually sell it to me... Wanted a DH
Camaro 2SS 1LE, Corvette C7 Grand Sport, GT350, S650 GT, Porsche Cayman

Zach,
Just a quick clarification? The way I read your last post was that you guys are taking deposits for any 2024 Mustang, not just Dark Horse. I checked in with your team and found I'm way far down the list for a DH but they stated they are only taking deposits for Dark Horse models...
You think interest is soft? Not challenging your point, asking a question. I was told by one dealer that I was 60th on a list for a DH when their allocation is 5.
Based off percentages I don’t see getting a GT / PP / MagneRide either.
I think that single fact excludes GT to me. I would rather find a Mach 1 or Camaro 1LE if I can’t get a DH (and it’s looking like I have no chance of getting a DH)
All good either way. I work with a lot of car dealers over the country in my line of work, and I know for a fact that many would never do what you're doing.
Didn't hear anything from the team on DH so I assume I was too far down the list. Regardless, you guys rock for doing this. I called 20 years within a 500 mile radius and zero were doing anything near as awesome as you are. Thanks for treating the car enthusiast community right!
