Agreed. It hides the design lines. The design lacks charisma.
I used to wear a lot of black clothing in my chubby phase. To hide my own "design" lines.
I've never driven a GT500, only a GT350. But there's gotta be something special about that dual-clutch transmission in the GT500.
I'd take a GT500 over the DH in a heartbeat. Even just on looks alone. Specially if it can be had for less than $85K.
It could also be the end of the line for ICE Mustangs. Challengers and Camaros will be EVs, I doubt the Mustang will be too far behind.
Just how much more can they squeeze out of the 5.0? I guess a factory FI option would be next.
It was actually $3K overpriced, as of April 2022. And with the HP reveal of the Dark Horse, it is completely justifieble. Th S550 looks way better.
The M1 HP drives and handles completely different than a GT. And it should, since it has GT350/GT50 DNA...and a higher price.
All of the sudden, the 10 HP lost in 2022 due to “emissions” suddenly become more important on paper. 😂 Corporations never cease to amaze me.
Makes me feel better about my S550 purchases. Much better looking generation, and minimal HP difference. Specially the Mach 1. 😎
I'll believe it when I see it. The Mustang ICE won't be around for much longer IMO. Dodge folded and the Hellcats/Scat Packs sell insanely well. Companies (and governments) will say anything to pacify the people or to stop any preemptive moves to stop an planned agenda. At least Toyota is sort...
How so? The Challenger and Camaro are done. The only one sticking around is the Mustang ICE. I'm not even sure how Ford managed to buy time for the Mustang, when Dodge and GM couldn't.
Ford will probably do something similar. Let's not ignore that the S650 is the last stop before Mustang becomes a full EV. The interior is designed for that. I actually see the S650 ICE as a 2-year run at the most. It was the first American pony car, and fittingly it will be the last...
I'm trying hard to like the Dark Horse. It's just doesn't look right. It lost all the charisma of the S550. It still looks better than 80% of the vehicles on the road, but lacks charisma.
Well, when the 2015 GT350 was unveiled, the license plate read "Ford Performance". For the Dark Horse, it read "Ford". I'm thinking it's more along the lines of the Mach 1.
I remember when the 2015s were announced Ford said the HP jump was gonna be substantial. Going from 420 HP to 435 HP was not "substantial" IMO. I'd expect 465 HP from the new GT. And let's not forget a year ago GTs were 460 HP. Dark Horse should be around 490 - 500 HP under the same logic. And...
