I never said it did. Ford wanted a more aggressive look like a Mopar. Out of the Camaro, Mustang and Mopar, the Mopars have the most "muscle car" look. This is what Ford is going for with the new front design. Except that the Mopar look wayyyy better than the S650's. The Mopars front-end is...
Thatās the saving grace of the design. Otherwise, itās a clown-shoe with a split toe. The S650 design is a downgrade.
They should have left the 2015/2018 design team intact. But I get it, Ford wants to appeal to the GM, Mopar and Ford crowd now more than ever.
So this was the result. A...
The second pic looks WAAAAAY better. That's how it should have been designed. The puckered butt look of the current design is a downgrade from the S550.
Great redesign on that second pic. Wow.
The Mach 1 HP looks way better in terms of looks. Amazing what they did with the S550, right out of the gate it was a great looking Mustang. The S650 on the other hand, I need a shot or two of Tequila to like it.
Since the Mustang has no direct American competition anymore, seems like Ford...
No doubt. I remember watching Jay Lenoās Garage when he unveiled the red prototype S550. As soon as I saw it, it was just a great looking Mustang. Right out of the gate.
Iāll even throw in the S197s in there. Perfect fusion of modernism and classic styling.
The same cannot be said for the...
In terms of looks, it's inferior to the GTxxx/Mach 1 HP. It's just fresher, since it was unveiled a couple months ago. In a few more months, it's gonna show more wrinkles than Sean Penn. The front end is a Catfish grin, basically.
Instead of letting the Mustang be a Mustang, I think Ford kept some design lines of the S550, added 6th gen Camaro design lines (to attract Camaro buyers), and tried to give it a muscle car look for the Challenger/Chargers buyers. I even see cues of the Supra MKIV. It's a Frankenstein Mustang...
There were Mach 1 HPs latest to be built? That's surprising. I read somewhere dealers where unable to select the HP option when placing an order for 23' Mach 1s. Even 23' Mach 1s were surprising, highly doubt any HPs will be built anymore. It's all about the Dark Horse now.
Well said. I don't get this online S650 D-Riding Squad. The car is not even out yet. Ford does not get a free pass from criticism just for being the only American sports/pony/muscle with an ICE. If Ford is pushed to make an amazing product, it might make Chevrolet and Dodge bring back an ICE...
I get it. And anyone that can afford a DH, can afford a Mach 1 and a GT350/R. I came close to getting a GT350, but the M1 HP was more a complete car for me, just as the DH will be for others.
