I finally got around to doing the install of the Cobra Nogaro and Schroth Quick Fit Pro with sub straps. I’m looking forward to testing them out on the track at the end of the month!
Gonna turn this around on you and ask, have you used the Nogaro with the stock 3-point belt or seen anyone else that had?

My understanding from people who had hundreds more track days than I have is that it's optimal to either stick with all-factory restraints + seats, or do a full bucket, harness, and cage, not some mix in between.

I realize what I just said contradicted my initial question, but I plan to get the premium seats instead of the Recaros and retain all of the interior because it's gonna be a daily 99.9% of the time. My thinking is to swap the bucket seat in for the rare track days.

I have driven on the street with the Nogaros and the three point harness, but not on track. I would say it would be some improvement for track use by only doing a seat swap, as it will reduce some of the sliding in the seat, but it won’t completely relieve the need to spend your energy keeping your butt planted. That is the big benefit of the harness; it does the work of keeping you locked in the seat.

I read lots of comments about the setup before I proceeded, and there is a fair amount of feedback saying don’t use a harness without a cage. For a standard racing harness, I agree, but the Schroth Quick Fit is specifically designed for use with or without a head and neck restraint (which is the other reason for many recommendations to avoid a hybrid setup), is built in with ASM system and is street legal. If you watch the Schroth videos they address some of the concerns. That said, I opted for the roll bar as well. The nice thing about the Quick Fit is you can remove them in just a few seconds. One note, I highly recommend a HNR for an extra measure of protection if you are going to use a harness.

For full disclosure, I have since changed to a Sparco Evo XL seat and Schroth Flexi 6 point harness. I wanted more lateral support than the Nogaro provided, and the Evo has higher sides to keep me in the seat better. Once I switched seats I changed the harness since the Quick Fit is not approved for the Evo, and even though it may have been fine, I thought it wise to use a true racing harness. My car has become a track only vehicle, so quite different from your use case.
