Order update on my 2026 Mustang GT order:
So it turns out my car is in the process of being shipped but it is still sitting at a holding lot in new Boston, Michigan.
Last Thursday, my sales person reached out to me and said it was on the way but I guess she didn’t realize that it was on the way to a holding lot for further transport.
It was released from the plant and sent to a regional holding lot where it has to wait for further transport down to Kentucky.
The sales manager told me today that it is actively sitting on a transport truck and it has a driver assigned to it but it is waiting for more cars to be loaded onto the truck.
He also told me that ford no longer has its own transport company and that Ford has to source third-party companies for vehicle transport and that the company that is transporting my Mustang is down to one truck when they usually have three trucks transporting vehicles.
So here has been the timeline so far:
Ordered: April 16, 2026
Scheduled week of: June 29, 2026
In production: June 18, 2026
Built: July 1, 2026
Released from the plant and shipped to a holding lot on August 11, 2026
As of today August 26th 2026 is it loaded on a truck waiting for clearance/finished load and final transport to dealership
Seems like transport can take the longest out of anything, the whole logistic stuff is really confusing to me but at least I’m gonna be getting it sometime soon.
