So I've wanted a mustang for years and although I loved the idea of getting an old fox body decided I would rather have something with modern conveniences that I can spend what little spare time I have driving instead of wrenching. Having said that I picked up a new 2025 Convertible GT with PP and am planning out upgrades. I will not be tracking the car so primarily looking for launch / power improvements all the while trying to maintain the ability to use as a daily driver in the summer months.

Here is what I'm thinking:

Phase 1 (now)

SVE R350 Wheels and some wider rubber (285s on 10s in the front, 305s on 11s in the rear - Nitto NT555 G2)
Steeda Stop the Hop kit

Phase 2 (fall 2026 /spring 2027)

Whipple Stage 1 (shop recommending billet oil pump gears and timing sprocket as part of this upgrade)
Oil catch can on passenger side

I figure I'm going to stick with stage 1 which should put me just north of 600hp at the wheels and be just fine for a daily driver.

Thoughts and opinions welcome? Anything glaring I've overlooked?

Go with the Whipple stage 2 kit. Stage 1 is pretty lame. Don't bother with the gears/sprocket. And use the Nitto R2's for the rear, the G2's are going to be useless once you put the supercharger on. You're also going to want the BMR or Steeda stop the hop kits for the rear end.

Dont get this.

The whipple tune completely changes pedal tq demand and the pedal demand ramp ups. That will severely ruin the drivability. You shouldnt run that anyway. Just get a tune if youre NA. Pedal demand ramp ups can be easily refined and should be.

Okay, so it depends if you're getting a whipple or not. Agreed.

If you arent getting a tune either for NA then sure get one. But any tuner should be able to change the pedal demand for you and its dramatic when its done right.
