I put my H pipe on over a month ago and love the sound that it makes and I don't mind the "snap crackle and pops" Lol :like:

Makes sense, I only use track, i live in a rural area so there isnt alot for the noise to bounce off of so even track doesnt seem all that loud to me.

Sounds great, the normal start up shouldn't bother the neighbors much, these really arent all that loud until you mess wit the headers. But maybe my ears are messed up lol my previous car was a 21 sti with headers and a turbo back exhaust.
Something personal I believe.. :) When cold, the H-pipe only is enough to greatly increase the noise, to the point that it would annoy some neighbors. If i'm not wrong it cannot be start in quiet, even if you set it, it first start with the valves open then it closes it, then you gonna hear that initial ROAR (that is the best part for me.. but not for some others.. :) ).
I think someone found a way to start it in quiet by the turn the dash on, select quiet and only then start it.. I don't remember and I don't care, that roar always put a smile on my face (not on my neighbors if it's 3am).

Im glad to hear that im not the only one whos popping popcorn out of his tailpipes. I also installed a steeda H pipe about a year ago and I would say that approx 1/4th of my shifts, whether its up or down, come with a pop.

I dont like it. I feel like one of those subaru kids.

i do prefer the overall tone/depth/everything else about the H pipe over the stock resonator however - so i dont plan on taking it off. Wish it didnt pop though. If anyone has a solution or fix to this pop please let us know

I was considering trying a double H pipe to see if that calmed the popping down......but it sounds like it might be just as bad if not worse lol.
Resonated H pipe from Borla removed majority of POPS and sound deepened considerably

Really. You went from another brands H pipe to Borlas product and experienced a significant decrease in pop action?

You think it sounds better as well?

this is the item youre referring too?

It sounds very similar, a bit deeper growl. Lots of pops driving around. I would get a video for you but my car is at the shop getting the wheels painted.
+1 on the video

both items look interesting. If anyone has real world experience with that traditional looking H pipe from borla i would be all ears.

That huge suitcase looking one might tone down the Hpipe experience a bit to much for me. I enjoy the tone, decibel level, WOT, and everything about the steeda H pipe (minus the popping) so i would hate to sacrifice its pros to relieve the popping cons.
- Perhaps it works well for people doing headers and takes down that shrill raspy feature some?

Thanks and Understand. Just wanted to float another good option. My hearing is pretty bad plus wife didn't like the popping from Borla X Pipe. Made the change and all is good for me :)

I’m not an old guy, but I act like one…. I love loud exhaust but I also like it quiet at times (which is why I got the active exhaust)… I want to get the H-pipe, but want to know how quiet it can be in the interior??? Thoughts?

(Incidentally, I’ve been searching for someone who’s done a db test inside, but couldn’t find it yet…)

I have not tested the dB's inside the cabin and I have a GT manual with active exhaust and an H pipe and my go to custom scenario is Sport mode and Track exhaust and with the windows up going thru the gears to the rpm limit it rumbles pretty good but that's how I like it and you still can have a conversation with your passenger and have no problem with hearing every word they are saying. You always have the option to set the active tone to normal or even quite mode. :)
