Whipple and Resale Value

Planning on having a whipple kit installed this winter, most likely by Lebanon Ford in Cincinnati. Good chance in 6 or 7 years I'll want to sell mustang for something newer. What is everybody's opinion on resale? Get none of it back, some, most? Car will have relatively low miles and be in good condition. Thanks

I know the general rule of thumb is never consider any aftermarket parts to add value, actually subtract in a lot of cases. Do you think supercharger kit is different like maybe does add a few thousand to resale?

Depends on the dealer if they willing to pay some for the supercharger. Only for sure thing is to sell it private. No dealership want you to be rich. That’s my thoughts on the resale thing.

I don’t believe you will get even half of it back from what I’ve seen .
I am debating Whipple for my DH as well.
But I just can’t justify it.
$12k + tires and wheels so $15k minimal on a 24 premium that I got for $4k under sticker and still feel like I’d be pissing away $12k.
I will road course the car , not drag race is another factor.
I love pushing the performance and want more but just can’t justify it.
I have the money but it’s just not smart money at 46.
You crash and you’re fucked if you don’t insure the work with expensive insurance.
Just my2 cents.
I just want a Wengerd e85 tune and I’d be happy!

At a business stand point you wouldn’t wanna pay extra for a car either, you would come up with an excuse to pay less for it. So yeah selling private is the better option and dealership is a last ditch effort.

After the tax reduction with a trade in and being stubborn negotiator I've gotten within a couple thousand of private sale price. With the convenience it's a fair deal to me. But that's with unmodified vehicles.

We all got our ways of earning some money. We all good at different things, scamming and robbery ain’t one of mine though.

Sounds good. If I don't have dealer do it I might pick one up black Friday and do install myself. Couple guys at work have done f150 and s550 themselves
