I'm not sure the stereotype about the French is true. Maybe in Paris, but in the Charente where I live part of the time there is no arrogance. In actual fact they are very welcoming and tolerant of us 'Rosbeefs'. I think the French know they have a superior culture and food to most countries and just pity the others - not arrogance just reality!

Americans in France stick out like a very sore thumb and are a source of huge amusement. So gauche!
You are correct, I should have clearly stated Paris. We made a number of stops between Bruges and Paris including a couple of nights in Reims. Everyone was lovely. But the attitudes started in Paris. Especially the way American women are treated by French men. Not all, of course, but enough to notice.

Been back and forth from England to Scotland since 2003.

The amount of tiny little cars compared to American cars and trucks was staggering. It’s a different market. The petroleum prices have been ridiculous in the as well since forever ago. Thst economic reality along with cultural preference certainly skews the UK a different direction than the US. WE LOVE OUR ROCK STARS, hot rods, American football, apple pie, and looking good while getting stuff done. Things are much more tame in the UK. Cool. Enjoy that. Meanwhile, Americans will carry on with what Americans enjoy. It’s fine by me if you don’t want petrol engines in your country. We really, really like them over here.

Is that not the hybrid V8 patents were applied for a few years ago? Where is the evidence this is actually happening because all you have posted is about your ideas, I have not seen you post any links to the F150 future? I have been paying attention hence why I don't understand.

That would just be trying to make the Coyote slightly more fuel efficient by adding the hybrid system in a HUGE vehicle that is already very inefficient.

It is NOT the solution to any vehicle smaller than a house!

EVs don't have engines so not relevant to them.
Dude. First you claim to never hear of the idea then you claim knowledge of years-old patents?

tell us you’re disingenuous without telling us you’re disingenuous.

another self-own from the experienced among us. Thanks for the additional entertainment on Super Bowl Sunday.

You do get confused. You never post actual evidence / links so it is really hard to work out what is your 'opinion' and what is actually from Ford. The hybrid V8 patent was discussed at length on here and the S550 forums years ago as it was filed in 2017. You obviously missed that?

YOU are posting like this is something new and will happen - where, when? Hybrid F150 probably but where have Ford said this is happening? You say 'small V8' hybrid - what 'small' V8. Yes I know 'small block' V8 is an American thing but a 5.0 V8 is not 'small' and certainly not suitable for anything other than a big truck. Could it be packaged in a Mustang, I don't know?

Well that is certainly good news. Would even be better if you could confirm eight cylinders! 🤭👍

dude. Stop digging. Seriously.

1. someone else posted the link in the very thread which you’ve been active in since the start.
2. I never claimed to be Isaiah the prophet. But it’s been an idea I’ve had since the countache launched with a super capacitor (not to be confused with Flux Capacitor”).
3. zig just posted a photo of a small car the 5.0 sits in currently. Hint: it’s the same v8 youve been claiming “is dead” in the same car this forum is dedicated to…
4. I wasnt talking about the 5.0 when I mentioned “small v8 as generator.”
5. You still lied when you pretended to never hear if the idea and now doubled down in exposing yourself by posting your own link.

it’s weird. You shoukd maybe not do that anymore. Trying to help you out bro.

YAWN

I would read back through what I have said because you seem to have misread a lot of it.

I also knew you (and others) would misread what I said about the V8 hybrid packaging - I was VERY specific in my post to say hybrid V8. There is NO evidence that Ford are fitting it in the Mustang as yet or even have any mule cars - remember a hybrid needs the electric motor and battery which could well be a problem fitting in the Mustang but easier in the F150. Oh and to avoid any doubt the Mustang is NOT a 'small car' - it has a HUGE engine bay compared to almost all cars globally.

You have also completely ignored AGAIN my request for you to explain why NO car makers are going down the 'small V8 route hybrid / range extender'. They are all using small triples or 4 cylinders, many on the Atkinson cycle for efficiency - completely at odds with what you are suggesting! Doesn't add much support to your case does it?

Countach doesn't have an 'e' by the way

They already are!
Um… yeah. That’s what I said. Thanks for the +1 I guess.

oh. You meant ford.
I thought you said ice was dead at ford.

I’ve been saying they were pushing the v8. You’ve been saying the v8 is dead. So I guess we will see.

'Ford will likely pursue the same path.'

You said - doesn't take a genius to work that out when they are already doing it.

I didn't say ICE is dead at Ford - plenty of Ford vehicles with ICE (not V8). I did say the V8 is legacy now and not just at Ford. That is not my opinion, that is what is happening in most places. I am not cheering that just pointing out the reality. For some reason me pointing out what is happening in the world somehow makes me anti V8 - which is very odd as I drive a Mustang.

I am very specific in my language but you miss crucial bits.

And STILL you ignore that NO car makers are going down the route you opine - Can only mean one thing, you know you are wrong!
