Maybe it is a stupid question, but what the lvl 2 lights mean?
I am looking for the best solution to install the rear fog lights on my Mustang 2024 to pass the EU certification and have noticed that there is a possibility to order a headlight switch with lvl 2. If that means that it is the EU switch with the additional button (it exists). Was trying to google, but still not sure what does it mean. Thanks

Thank you so much, my life became easier after reading your thread :) Actually, as a plan ā€œBā€, I have already purchased the custom backup lamp and the simple rear fog button to install it to the original switch, so I assume nothing needs to be coded in this case, am I right?
But still prefer to install all the original parts, so thank you again for the useful information!
BTW, how it is going, were you able to install the original backup lights and get them work properly? What about coding, any problems with it?

I havent fixed it yet.

I also bought the aftermarket fog light switch from Pawel in Poland and I will connect this to the back up lamp with the fog light. It is cheaper this way and nothing has to be coded.

If you want it OEM, there will be a lot more work and coding on it and it will cost a little bit too much extra just to have the same exact fog light working.

The fog light for me is just to pass inspection and nothing else. I'm not going to spend 1500 Euro's extra just to pass inspection.

Do you have integrated turn signals in your car?

yes, I am also doing it just because of the EU certification and it is so annoying that even dealer can’t answer the simple questions regarding the parts, coding possibilities, etc.
I am from Latvia and as far as I know, it is not mandatory to modify the turn signals anymore šŸ¤”

Dealers don't want to advice about putting parts on a car that doesn't belong there. Dealerships have no knowledge on those things and if they do they will not tell you.

By turn signals I mean the turn signals in your side mirror. Do you have turn signals in your side mirror? I don't, so I have to put new side mirrors on the car with turn signals.

No, I don’t have them either. Is it necessary to pass the EU certification? Haven’t heard about that.

Yes, the dealership don’t want to advise for free and no judgment on it, but even when you want to get the service from them, you are right, they simply don’t know šŸ˜„ Actually, after spending several months on repairing the car, still don’t know what is right resource where it is possible to get the accurate information about the parts. Normally checking the official distributor websites with the OEM parts, where you at least can see the diagrams and some description, but if you have the specific question and trying to order the part from them, they also can not advise.
