Get the VIN go to your local Ford Dealer, ask NICELY for the warranty history from a service advisor, preferably not first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon. Ask them about the cars warranty status. Is it still in force.Yes, from Carmax. Should I be concerned about the Ford warranty?
If someone screwed with the car, and frankly nobody has been able to get into the ECM to develop any tuning Ford can and will deny warranty coverage. Even using K&N Filters can be a reason for a warranty claim to be denied.
You may even want to go ask the F&I guy if it is eligible for an extended warranty if you wanted to purchase one.
Also run the vin thru NHTSA's website looking for open recalls.
CarMAx is NOTORIOUS for selling cars with open recalls
Personally I am not a fan of the place
