Whipple air filters

My 24 GT has Stage 1 Whipple & its time to clean the air filters. The Whipple kit came with blue air filters & according to their website these are oiled. Well, I cleaned & oiled them & they just don't look right, like the oil doesn't spread thru the material like it should . Thinking maybe should have just cleaned them & re-installed. Curious to what others have done. Understand there are many after market alternatives, don't want to go there yet.
