Based on the thumbnail for the video I thought they were testing a Dark Horse SC and I was wondering how they got their hands on one so fast. I was duped, lol. Still a cool watch.

Yeah, I think it's just a stock Dark Horse with a Stage 1 Whipple slapped on it. Makes around 810bhp+ on the canned tune supposedly. I didn't give the U-Drag guys much shit about not being able to drive this time around because getting a Whippled DH out of the hole on those track tires is not easy.

It made 630hp on a dynojet

They couldn’t launch it when it was stock either 🤣. The vids are cool but the drivers are lacking

Out of curiosity what is the best way to launch one?

In almost all of these videos, it seems the mustang loses on launch to cars with better tech or AWD. When supercharged though, it catches up before the end of 1/4 mile.

So unless the problem is between the steering wheel and the seat, the supercharged mustangs do decent when starting a race from an already moving position or in the 1/4 (11's versus 12's stock), but get beat by almost anything starting from launch such as stoplight-to-stoplight or in the 1/8.

I haven’t watched this latest vids but in the past people had complained the Edmund’s drivers weren’t launching at the right RPMs, in the right drive mode, and they’re paddle shifting instead of letting the car shift for itself

Yep, the auto tranny eats a lot more hp than the stick so less power makes it to the ground. Though 629rwhp is a little lower than normal for a Stage 1 auto with the 91 octane canned Whipple tune, but it's still in the ballpark from what I've seen autos put down. That's about 741bhp which in my opinion means either something is wrong with the dyno or something is wrong with the tune.

Yep, my AWD 300hp Cupra was as quick to 100kmh as the Ford. But from then on, no chance against 486hp.

No one knows how to launch... or drive stick for that matter. They come off the line spinning and then take nearly 2 seconds between gears from what I've seen... then complain the car is slow.
