Hi All,

I am new to the forum. I did a quick search and didn't see any topics related directly to this...

Here is my thought... I think the car would look best with a duckbill type spoiler. There are options out there, but they are obviously for the fastback model. Has anyone replaced the spoiler module with one from a fastback, successfully?

My theory on the third brake light would be to put the Diode Dynamics/Form Lighting Reverse Light in the car that would add another brake light that also pulses when the brakes are applied. I know this is lower than the trunk lid light that comes on the car, but I feel fairly confident with the pulse of the new light that I won't be risking getting rear ended.

Let me know if anyone has been successful in attempting to do this?

Thanks!

There is a post (27) Thoughts on moving Convertible 3rd brake light? | Mustang7G - 2024+ S650 Mustang Forum (Dark Horse, GT, EcoBoost, GT500, GT350, Mach 1) on this.
you cannot in USA move the brake light down. I actually saw a convertible with duckbill spoiler Shelby is hard to see it but there is one on it (the one I saw was white cannot find it now)

Thanks for the link to the other thread. I was trying to avoid the light bar with the 3rd tail light in it, but that should keep me legal if I decide to remove the trunk lid where it currently lives.

I am going to keep exploring this option and will keep this thread updated with any progress.

I had asked this question on the forums a few months ago and came to the conclusion that if I were to move the 3rd brake light, that I would be outside of DOT compliance. I gave up. lol

read FMVSS section 108, which covers third brake light requirements including placement and size in square inches

Under FMVSS 108, the third brake light must be mounted on the rear vertical centerline, with specific placement requirements varying slightly by vehicle type: in passenger cars, it must be no lower than three inches below the rear window or six inches for convertibles.

The light must also be red and have an effective luminous area of at least 4.5 square inches
