Today I replaced the stock trim piece in my 2025 that did not have a sunglasses holder with the piece that does have the sunglasses holder. Here are a few things to note:
The plastic that holds the clips on the factory piece is very thin and very weak. If you think you ever want to use it again, use a trim puller carefully and not your hands as these pieces will actually snap off of the trim piece.
My car had a thingamajiggy zip tied where the sunglass holder goes. It was a wire and a box that says the side down that we're zip tied right where I needed the sunglass holder to slip in. I move them to a different location zip tied them tightly, and kept the side down that says this side down, down. I have no idea what this thingamajiggy is, but if it is not that side down the car will start making the galloping noise.
The other thing is that the first trim piece you remove is on the side of the dash, except you don't have to remove it. Just pull the clips and hinge it out of the way so that you can get to the 7 mm bolt.
Also, in case you're wondering, the sunglass holder will fit a regular pair of Oakley or Ray-Ban sunglasses. If you wear a Jackie o style sunglasses, they are probably not going to fit in this drawer.
