For kicks, I asked AI to total up the parts list on this. How did it do?

Below is a parts-only cost approximation (no labor, fluids, gaskets/hardware, dyno time, shipping, taxes, or core charges). Pricing is based on current published pricing where I could find it, plus reasonable market estimates where pricing isn’t publicly listed.

Key brands referenced once: Steeda Autosports, Anderson Composites, Kooks Headers, QA1 Precision Products, Circle D Specialties, Auburn Gear, Lund Racing, GSC Power-Division, Baer Brakes, Corbeau Seats, Anchor Room, Billet Specialties, Mickey Thompson, Air Flow Solutions.

Grand total (parts only)
Estimated total (using the assumptions above): $37,278.41

Because a few items are inherently “quote-based” (ported heads, some brake kits, shocks, bumper bars, etc.), a realistic parts-only range is:

≈ $34,830 to $41,741 (depending mainly on head-work scope, converter spec, rear brake kit pricing, and seat choice).
That list has some of the engine parts incorrect.

E.g., ported heads are gone and replaced with stock Gen 4 cylinder heads. So cost is $0 unless you are going to include the cost of every part ever installed and removed after testing. Try 5 intake manifolds? Add up the cost of all 5? All that matters to duplicate the build is the intake manifold they are using now, so the AI insertion of the 1320 ported manifold is wrong. They are using the Cobra Jet and the Boschma throttle body adapter.

Right now the engine is mounts (necessary in the S650), 2" headers, GSC camshafts, Cobra Jet intake manifold with the Boschma throttle body adapter, Steeda intake tubes, and tuning for E85. I am guessing injectors, too (but I don't know that, for sure).

Yeah, the driveline is more, and suspension for a drag launch and beefing up the driveline and wheels and tires, but everybody knows the cost of those components, and so they are no secret to anybody drag racing their S650 and getting good 60 foot times.

The engine, however, which is what everybody is curious about, is just two bolt ons and the camshafts swap. Then tuning, but every modified S650 is tuned today.
