Upon installing steedas stop the hop kit, I noticed one of my axles slinging grease. Went ahead with the install anyway. So when I take this to the dealer for an axle, are they gonna have to drop the cradle to replace the axle. If so I guess I gotta tell them, right

Is the car still under warranty? If you can install a stop the hop kit, you can replace an axle, if the dealer gets stupid. Also the Magnuson-Moss act offers some protection regarding the dealers voiding warranties for aftermarket parts. Your axle seal leaking gear lube, not "grease" wasn't caused by any aftermarket part. If anything the stop the hop kit helps prevent this problem. Just be nice and courteous, and explain what you've done, and what you've found during the install.

Further; Simply put, the Magnusson-Moss warranty act prohibits a manufacturer from denying warranty coverage due to the use of a non-oem part unless they can demonstrate that the failure or operation of that part caused the issue that warranty is being claimed for.

This is if the car is still warranty covered and the dealer has an issue with the installed kit, and tries to void the warranty on the differential because of the installed kit.

Ok cool. Thank you. Yeah the car is still under warranty. And also I meant it's slinging grease at the boot closest to the wheel, not a seal

Easy fix if the dealer wants to play games. It'd going to be hard to prove that the stop the hop kit caused this, in my opinion.

Well the axle got replaced under warranty but service couldn't even put it back together right. Started getting a rattle after driving a bit, progressively getting worse. Figured it was brake dust shield, and sure enough it is. Back to the dealer 🙄
