Shoes For The Clutch Pedal

I've had my 2024 GT since November. On several occasions the sole of my shoe has slipped up the clutch pedal pad dangerously. One time the shoe sole slipped all the way from my toe area up (or down) to the arch. Not good. I have a steep uphill driveway then a level garage floor. I need to slip the clutch up the driveway and suddenly push it in and hit the brakes once in the garage. I've been looking around the forum at the many ideas for better clutch pedal contact. But now I've decided to take a different approach. I usually wear Skechers for the cushion and comfort. But the loafers I wear have smooth pads on the sole. Bad. I need a nubby, sticky clutch shoe. I started out with some cross trainer shoes I have. Really good sticky pedal contact, but kind of stiff and heavy for driving. Also not enough space for the shoe beside the clutch pedal. Then I tried some "driving shoes" from Clark's. Very nice leather loafers with a very sticky rubber sole, but also very narrow and stiff. Long break-in needed. Nope, too painful. I noticed I had stashed away a pair of Callaway golf sneakers. They've got rubber bumps instead of cleats. Bingo! Light mesh for cool feet and little rubber nubs all over the sole. They are fantastic on that clutch pedal. So, I'm off to find Skechers with those nubby sticky bumps on the soles. Now that I think about it, this could be a great idea. Golf sneakers for Driving Shoes. They stick, they're cool and soft, lots of colors and most I saw are under $100. Anybody else tried this idea?

You could always put some grippy material on the pedal itself. I've used skateboard grip tape in the past. I'm sure Home Depot or Lowes sells something similar.

Thanks Porterhousestk. I recently had a Pacemaker installed. It's kind of a tight awkward work space down there. It makes my chest uncomfortable. So, it's shoes for now. These nubby golf soles really work great. Thanks for the reply.
