Has anyone experienced DTC reemerging after restarting the engine. I successfully clear the codes but they come back the next time I start the engine. My codes are associated with adding a CAI and the performance improvement measuring outside the range for OEM equipment. Loading the calibration file hasn’t resolved the issue. I’m unsure of my next steps.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

a cold air intake alone will not toss a code, you did something else.

MAF sensor plugged in?

You did swap it over right?

Used the gaskets so no air leaks?

tubes back on the intake tubes and made sure they are seated and the clips are holding them in place

what code are you getting?

P0101?

Yes to all, including code P0101.

Whipple said the tune would fix it but it didn’t. I loaded it twice.

well if it is tripping a code as soon as you start the car something is not seeing data, time to plug into it with a good diagnostic scanner and read the PID for that sensor

Are the filters oiled? If so that will drive a MAF sensor nutty

Any vacuum leak from a loose clamp at the the throttle body will allow air in and drive the computer nuts, same for those 2 hoses that go into the tubes

You mentioned Whipple, are you boosted?

I have HP Tuners VCM scanner. Do u know if that will enable me to read the PID? Oh and what’s a PID?

PID is parimeter ID, simply it is looking for a specific sensor data in real time

A pro level scanner will give you the expected range and graph the data showing you what is going on

For the 20 minutes it would take to put the stock tubes back on, with the filters and sensors I'd be looking to see it the codes were still there with the stock box on

Something isn't right.

A damaged sensor, contaminated sensor, sensor facing the wrong way (note direction of flow as marked arrow towards the throttle body) a vacuum leak.

So the data will tell me which sensor is driving the error? One sensor will read 0 and the other will have legitimate data, right?

I think I found the problem! The MAF sensors arrow faces the air boxes not the throttle bodies. I need to reverse them.

I think I mentioned that in one of my posts.

Same thing with wheel bearings, the ones that use a magnet for the ABS speed sensor has to be on the inside of the hub, very easy to put it wrong. Then you have to press it out without destroying the bearing.
