I need help bad installing a MGW shifter in my Dark Horse

It's the 10mm bolt on top the transmission. I unbolted the transmission support and let the transmission drop as far as it will go but it's still not enough to give the bolt room to slide all the way out. I can't even access the center driveshaft support bolts because there's a heat shield in the way with no apparent way to remove it. It's looking like I'm gonna have to get my car towed to I don't even know where anyone around me would be willing to finish the install.

I'm so mad. 8 hours I've been at it, about 6 just for that bolt. I loosened my exhaust clamps where my Steeda H Pipe meets the muffler pipe and behold, trans dropped enough for the bolt to fall right out. I swear to God this shifter better feel better than sex . For anyone else looking into installing one of these: Disconnect the exhaust hangers for the mufflers if you don't have a resonator delete and you'll probably be able to install this thing in 45 minutes like the people at MGW.

The install is way easier with a lift and a second pair of hands. Glad you got it. It makes a big difference on the MT 82. On the Tremec I'm sure it will be better than stock. It will be worth it once you start shifting.

Installation is a breeze when the exhaust and driveshaft are out of the way and you have the luxury of a lift. It's a subjective preference but the stock shifter for the Tremec 3160 is butter smooth but too compliant or "sloppy" for my liking. MGW is precise with higher side-to-side effort (easily addressed with different length shift handles/knobs) and less chance of missing a shift so rowing the gears at WOT is more confidence inspiring. It's a pricy investment but well worth it for me, it changed the driving "experience" to a whole new level of what shifting a manual transmission in a high performance car should feel like.

I’d have blown my own head off looong before it was done.

I have driven manuals with very few exceptions. And I currently have the gtpp 2025 in manual. There are a lot of mods I’ve done and a couple I’ve never done.
Shifters and shift kits are on the list of “never done”.
I’ve contemplated it more times than I can count. But I’ve read all kinds of things about it feeling really hard and notchy and my cars are always dailies. Furthermore there is always talk about vibration which sounds awful.
Again, I don’t know if shifters/shift kits are really for daily drivers but either way kudos to you. I’m easily frustrated at the kinds of things you’ve described. I’d have lost it for sure
