how it works is it uses the interior temp and humidity sensor to choose whether or not to start with the heated or cooled seats, but it's kinda limited. it's not really that customizable - it's either on or off - but something you can do with FORScan to make your heated and cooled seats even better is go into the APIM and HVAC modules and enable the auto climate seats. that will add a third button to the little interface for the heated and cooled seats with an "A". press it, and the vehicle will continuously vary the level of heated and cooled intensity depending on the interior temperature. yet another feature that works perfectly since day one, but Ford didn't enable it for us, but did for other models
