I know this has been covered before but the answer never came. So many people said just let it burn if their Mustang caught fire.
Twice in my neighborhood I have had to use a fire extinguisher from my truck on other peoples cars. The first was when my neighbors truck was parked half way into his garage. His wife had accidently thrown her lit cigarette out the window while driving and it landed in the bed. It must have smoldered for some time. When I saw it there were three foot flames and the bed liner was melting. I rushed over with my fire extinguisher and put out the fire thereby saving his garage.
The second was another neighbor working on his classic car. The carb caught fire as I was driving by. I pulled out my extinguisher and put out the fire since him throwing sand onto the open carb wasn't doing anything.
This is why I carry one but finding a good location to mount it on my new Mustang has been a challenge. I am looking for ideas. Any thoughts out there?
